The Marines are (usually) much more disciplined, and much better shots with their rifles, but they both serve their specific purpose and are both vital assets. |

Going by Iraq, none. They have kill more of themselves and even killed British soldiers. The Brits are alot better trained than the US military as they have Northern Ireland to train their soldiers in urban and rural combat plus they have the Special Air Service which is said to be the best fighting force in the world and that comes from alot of US military! |

I am proud of every branch of the military and commend them for having the "balls" to defend our country when so many people would rather sit at home and Monday morning quarterback. That said to me it has always appeared the Marines are much better disciplined then the ARMY and it is said they receive better training. Who knows?? This is a question that we all have our answers to but I'm proud to say I know people from the USMC, US ARMY, USN and the USAF. |

The Marines and the Army are two separate branches of the nation's military apparatus. Both these, along with the Air Force and the Navy, deserve praise for the splendid job they do to keep you and me safe.
Coming back to your question, I don't think its fair to compare them as both of them are trained and tasked differently. The Army may be better than the Marines at some coventional operations of war, while the Marines will obviously beat them hands down while staging an amphibious assault.

I would have to say the Army. The Marines have very few tanks and absolutely zero Apache Helicopters. |
