Who feels that we should take our troops out of Iraq right now?

Who feels that we should take our troops out of Iraq right now?

I am against the war with all of my being. At first I thought, bring our boys home as soon as possible-but now, it has come to my attention that if we were to do that it would cause more problems. I really hate to say this because I am against the war, but it has to be brought to some peoples attention that serious consequences could come as a result of pulling troops out of Iraq at this point. Even though Iraq was very "broken" when we went over, it is now in shambles. If we were to leave now without in some way securing Iraq from outside countries, Iraq could fall to any government that came along to "help" them. Iran is who I believe would come in after we left, and be the "hero". Iraq would then fall to the command of Iran and we would be doomed. It is known that there are several major terrorist groups who train in and are funded by Iran. What are your thoughts on this topic?

No one wants war, especially those Men who have to fight it.

But we have freed 25 million people.

Do you realize more americans die every day in California alone from being robbed, mugged, mobs, gangs.

What do liberal congress women/men do about it...NOTHING.

We are fighting a group of sadistic idiots, pyscho's, have you forgotten the throats cut on tv. oh cnn wont show it.

Contractors hung from a bridge beaten with sticks.

They want to kill Americans, bring our forces home, they will be landing at a airport near you. They want to engage our military, kill them, make them think they are superior.
But they don't compare to our soldiers face to face, they have to use bombs snipers. They are cowards, but believe this, they will cut your throat and those of your children.

We are infidels and will either convert, or be eliminated.
This is true ask moderate muslims.

I say we win the war in Iraq, when we take the gloves off our Soldiers, let them seek the enemy out and destroy it.

we should get out of there and let the iraq people take over their own security. we have to worry about defending our own country first.

Before we got to Iraq, and before Sadaam, the Sunni's, Shi'ites and Kurds were killing each other en masse. Sadaam took over the country, and killed masses of Iraqi people. The US went to Iraq, and killed a bunch of Iraqi's; and a bunch of Americans got killed. Now the Sunni's and Shi'ites are killing each other en masse, again. There may have been groups training as terrorists before during and after Sadaam. What has changed? Does it really make a difference what the US does?

I agree with you. If we brought our troops out now it could spell disaster. Not only would Iraq be under Iran's control, it would be veiwed as a weakness. Other countries would see dicontent in the US and decid to act on it. It might be the deciding facto on weather or not North Korea fires a nuke at us. But then again nothing bad could happen. My opinon is that we should not take a chance. We need to finish what we started. We went there for a reason.

I've agreed with the war since the beginning, but your logic is sound and I applaud your deductive reasoning and support even though you don't care for the action. We need to finish the job.

His Angel
My husband just lost one of his fellow soldiers in Iraq. He was 19. To me, there is nothing that could justify his death. He was young, innocent, and didn't deserve to die. I question myself now, is this all worth it? To lose all of these innocent lives to a war that has gotten completely out of hand.

I am scared for my husband, I want him home. He has been gone 5 months, and I don't think I have been as scared as I am now.

The war in Iraq has become a civil war between the Shiites and the Sunnis, and we are slapped in between them with our soldiers being killed by both sides, and we killing both Shiites and Sunnis, too as we're never really positive which ones are now more dangerous on the streets. Worst still, we don't even know which sides will to avenge their dead on us in the future. However, if the radical Shiites win and they have already shown throiugh their leader, al-Sadr, that they hate America, surely we don't want them to win. And if the radical Shiites win, then Israel will be shivering first, before we do. Think of all the money and weapons we've already put into Iraq for their use!

Maybe, so many European nations have wisen up and not concern themselves with Iraq, but paying more attention to fighting the al-Quedas. They have their citizens to protect against the strenghtening al-Quedas instead of stirring up Israeli's enemies to become their enemies, too.

Give it a flippin rest already. This subject has been worn out. We can't leave until the job is done.

Most people 'feel' that way, but all the 'caveats' you've tried to get across 'hold some water'. Catch-22 for sure. It's gonna be a long time, unfortunately.

Great Topic. Well, my belief is that we never had any right in the first place to stick our head in other nations' problems. The US believes that they're the 'Godfather' for every nation, and feels it to be so necessary to always butt in everyones business. Though, I believe that pulling our troops out would be a great idea, instead of sending more troops there, as some may want. Losing innocent lives of our troops is a waste. What is all this for? Every day; day-by-day, the US is losing money thats being funded for this war. Nothing can justify the innocent lives that we're losing. A very long time ago, our first President, George Washington once warned us in his Farewell Speech about something very important. He stated that the US should "steer clear from permanent alliances". He also said that nations only form alliances for their own interests. But the US would never believe in Neutrality or Isolationism. Sorry to be getting a bit of topic, but in general, I'm extremely against this war. Im tired of hearing every month about how many soldiers we lost, or how much money we're losing. If another nation has a problem, then that's their problem. Let them take care of their own problems, and we'll take care of ours.

at this point it really looks like it has gotten outta hand as a wife of a soldier i also said they should pull out the troops as soon as possible.but i got to thinking and if they leave now before the job is finished, there will be even more chaos.i wouldn`t wanna be the one making that decision.it all comes down to this:a lotta those terrorist are sitting right here in usa or other countries just waiting to strike.if they pulled out all the troops there would be no kinda security or control of how many more will come up with ideas on how to attack and bomb us.i still have those images in my head of innocent people getting their throats cut on live tv.i`m not saying we should therefor kill everybody but we have to restrict those kinda activities.
my husband has been deployed to iraq 2 times and is going again this year.of course i`m worried about his well being but that is his job.i had to accept that.

Iran and Saudi Arabia (which are both already DEEPLY involved in Iraq) would become more overtly involved, and you're right, it'd be a disastrous bloodbath.

However, our continued presence there is a disastrous bloodbath.

Here's how I have been summing it up for a few years:

It would be a mistake to leave Iraq right now.

It would be an even worse mistake to stay.

The worst mistake of all was going into Iraq in the first place.

At what point do you cut your losses and admit that your continued investment is making the problem worse instead of better?

All Communists, Socialists, Islamo-Facists, want us to surrender and leave immediately.

And I'm just talking about the ones who are currently controlling Congress....

What I as a Veteran am against is scum bags such as yourself using the term "Our troops." Your troops were the draftee soldier from the Vietnam War. Myself, along with every single service-member in the US Department of Defense is a VOLUNTEER!!! Yes, we volunteered to join the military knowing full well what the scope of our military service included. I served 20 years and went to Iraq 3 times, each time having to listen to idiots such as yourself claiming you're the voice of "Our troops."

I agree with you. We need to keep troops in Iraq to keep it stable, and out of control of Iran. Then again I also think we should move a third carrier to the Persian Gulf heh...
