Why?
Because ulike the yanks and the rest of the world marines are taught that their gun is the only thing they can really depend upon, so from Day 1 they are taught how to maintain it and use it. Other nations ie. the U.S.A think they can win wars soley on the fact they have greater long range weapons and a biggest air force(stand fast china it's air force size is unknown) but in Vietnam, Iraq and Afganistan they have been proved wrong. It's true the Israllies have experiance but look at there last fight. they lost to a bunch of rebals. |

Isreal would win. They have been fighting since before they were a country. They have never stoped fighting. Thats not to mention they are GODs chosen people. I won't **** with them. |

maybe israel since they have experience, or troops from iraq and afghanistan, russians from chechyna, or any country that has soldiers fighting. |

Very difficult to say really, Modern soldiers are taught using the same or similar techniques whichever country they are from.
British soldiers tend to think first then shoot, whilst our American cousins shoot first then think about what they have done.
It would also come down to terrain and such..
If the battle was in built up areas then probably UK or USA would prevail. If it was on desert or a hot climate then Israel or Turkey would probably win.
Every country has a group of elite soldiers who are the best in the business, I shall name a few.
UK = SAS & SBS
USA = Delta force
Israel = Mossad
Australia = ASAS
New Zealand = NZSAS

Canadian Soldiers would win for sure.
Infact, even the great leaders of the past of said the same. Canadian Soldiers with Newfoundland Attitudes would prevail in any war.
The USA has more weapons, however, the question states 1000 troops. And since, The Canadians have already invaded the Americains in the past in the war of 1812, I beleive there to be no question.
As well, in the WWII, Canadians, British and Americains all sitting atop of hill came under attack. They were losing the battle against the Germans and the Americans and British withdrew leaving the Canadians to defend the post. Over 18,000 mortars were fired that night until reinforcements arrived the very next day. The Canadians kept the hill.
The longest sniper shot was made by a Canadian at 2.4 Kilometres away. Infact, the shot was originally an Americain shot, however, He looked at the Canadian and said his shot was better. In doing so made a record.
Canadians By Far would win any battle of equal force, size and tecnology. |

Canadian Soldiers, our regular force soldiers are better trained than American "Special Forces". Even Canadian Armour personal are trained not only to drive or shoot their main vehicle weapon as well as personal weapons, but are also trained to repair their own vehicles. They have been doing the same job as their allies with results which are just as good or better, but have been doing it with outdated equiptment and Magyveresque skill. |

The British Army - just think how many other world leaders have trained themselves and their Officers at Sandhurst... but if you are talking about weapons - those may let them down - other countries have the AK-47 and the M-16 which are said to be far more reliable and easier to clean than the SA80 variant 2. |

In recent wars Israeli soldiers have repaired damaged tanks on the battlefield re manned them and got them fighting again.
Muslims have by contrast abandoned 100% functional tanks and run for it when attacked by soft skinned half tracks.
Israelis can not afford to lose the country is so small 1 defeat and Muslims will annihilate them all.
Kind of focuses the mind that. |

Why are people obsessed with killing. The practise makes perfect but that means many people die.
The Israeli nation have had to fight for their existence since 1948 but they would rather be farmer or scientists or teachers to improve mankind but they have to keep on fighting even if not all their decisions have been the right ones. You can give this a thumbs up or down its how I see it but the hatred has to stop somewhere before its to late. |

Without doubt the French Foreign Legion, I was watching a documentary about them, they completed an assault course in two hours, it took the U.S marines over six hours to complete the same course. |

Its got to be Afghanistan, They beat the Russians, with only financial help from the US. Now of course they are beating the US. I feel sorry that our Lads have been dragged into it. Although we have superior weapons and training I"m afraid there will only be one winner. |

usa if we put delta force, navy seals, and marine force recon out the only other country i think would win would be Britain because of SAS who are very highly trained. |

The best army force is the Sri Lankan army.... They are soooo determined and don't even care about their own lives when facing the enemies.... They keep on attacking the tamil rebels and go forward...Once only 75 soldiers fought with 750 rebels and still they managed to win... The best army is the Sri Lankan army.... |
