Well, the British army is the most active, most EU nations haven't been in a fully fledged war for decades. German military might is as strong as ever, but aggressive action is a delicate issue for the German people. All of Europes armies are effective, well-equipped and capable, so this question is quite useless

i would say Germany and France have the biggest military capability. but they still seem to be hiding behind the British skirt when it comes to actually fighting. but then! we have an EU lead government that doesn't give a toss about the British or what happens to the country or its people.so that's hardly surprising.

I would have to say the United Kingdom of Great Britain And Northern Ireland, germany and France may have strong military contingents but they are nowhere near as active as Britain. germany is still largely conscript based and France has only within the last few years adopted a professional army.

Well lets have a look at the rest, the Dutch are completely ineffective as a fighting force and are good for nothing apart from handing out sweets and toys in Bosnian schools aftyer the fighting is over, remember Srebrenicia?? The Danes are a cracking bunch of troops and I worked with them extensively in Iraq, I worked with the Portuguese, nice lads but all they seem to be capable is smoking large quantities of Marlboro's, their officer couldn't use his personal weapon properly! The Czechs were a decent bunch of guys, cant run for chips but can bench press a bus! They seem to be obsessed with butterfly knives and killing sentries with entrenching tools! (each to their own I suppose!) So I'' stick with my original answer of Great Britain!

The UK and France are both regarded as nuclear super powers and are therefore permanent members of the UN security council.The UK has the edge in military technology.Germany still has to abide by treaties made after WWII and their armed forces are restricted .

I would have to say the Royal forces are the strongest in the EEC. I don't know about numbers, but our boys are certainly willing to fight!

Remember, it's not how big your army is - it's how you use it!

For the benefit of the Americans who venture onto our site, what I mean is we don't kill our own for fun on the battlefield and we will involve ourselves in wars where we feel it is morally right to do so - we don't wait to be hit before lashing out!
