I'm with you SWEETHEART.. Ever see G.I.Jane...a women can do it all.. and its proven the can handle the stress better..I did 22+ years in the service and seen women do it all and in alot of cases alot better then men..I beleive like you if they can do the work then let them, not all women are cut out to do it but then again theres also alot of men who cant do it.. REST MY CAST.. LOL ROB |

Listen sweetheart, you also cant be a linebacker for the Dallas Cowbows. Cheerleader maybe, but not a linebacker. Special Forces require more physical strength than 99% of men have, that is only 1 aspect too. It is not as cool as it looks on TV either, it is more like a long bad dream. |

I don't feel that us women should not be in Special Forces. My husband is in Special Forces and it is hard as **** and we as women do not have that type of strength to be able to get through the year and a half of training besides that women if they were in Special forces would easily be taken captive.. So I know it maybe your dream to be in Special Forces but it is never going to happen so I would pick something elsa. |

in most theatres today where special forces are used, a woman would stick out like a sore thumb. women just aren't in that type of take charge position in these countries. and no, they can't keep up with the men. the physical demands are overwhelming so just forget that pipe dream. |

It's sad if you can't follow the dream that you want. However, I think it's a fallacy when people tell their kids that they can accomplish anything in life they put their minds to. Like Dirty Harry said, "A man's got to know his limitations." And that is so true.
I found out today that I weigh only 141 pounds and am only 5 feet 5 inches tall! I've been losing a few pounds and a bit shorter than I thought. It's cool, but it would be unrealistic of me to think I could kick the butt of a huge martial artist who has trained for a long time. Even if I had some training I probably still couldn't beat him.
What I'm saying is, that women have strengths that men don't have, and vice versa. Women's strengths may not be that obvious, but they are still there. In many ways, a woman may be able to keep up with 'most' men physically. But when it comes down to the nitty gritty, it would take a hell of a woman to be able to keep up with a hardened man with skill, balance, and all kinds of grit. This is no insult to women; I just think it's reality. |

No...sorry, I don't believe you have a clue what your "dream" requires. You might want to try a more realistic dream.
ROB. B if you were a LT.CDR. in the navy I'll eat my keyboard. If you were a SEAL i'll eat the whole damned computer. |

I think first you have actually be smart enough to do it. Judging by your writing, you lack that skill.
Second, a woman would need to be a strong as a man to do it. Not this, let's lower the standards to be PC business.
Then there's the political issue-- seeing a woman blown to pieces doesn't work. It also can mess up the rest of the men in the unit.
Other than that-- sure a woman can be part of spec. forces. |

I think women could do it sure. But I don't think they should. Women can be very distracting to men and those guys don't need to be distracted. By the way it's DREAMS. |

it does not matter if you are male or female we all stop bullets just the same. and as a matter of fact seeing how women give birth they are actually genetically wired to be able to endure more pain then men so why not give them a gun....and I would agree with you if I could read half of anything you have typed either lay off the drugs or alcohol, get some sleep or use the spell checker of all the women that could join I do think a basic requirement is being able to spell correctly. perhaps you should think more about getting into encryptions or something like that I had to get my decoder ring out just to translate your comments; and the ring says...

First off women can do anything men can do and sometimes better. The issue with women being in the spacial forces are, most missions you away from hygiene products in remote locations with out resupply for days. Women have spacial needs for hygiene that could cause her illness in these situations. Second men are emotional when it comes to women, if you were taken hostage most guys would forget their training and follow their gut to save you. There are lots of other jobs out there that are very challenging that you probally would kick some tail at. Good luck and thank you for considering protecting our country |

I think women should be allowed to join the special forces with the same training and drills as men have to go through, but it is scientifically proven that girls can't be as fast as most men due to hip structural differences. But, set aside, I totally agree with you. |

I agree with you that women should be allowed to join the special forces. Just so long as the women meet the same requirements the male soldiers do. You will see in most militaries, the US military included, that the acceptable physcial standards are set much lower for female recruits than male. I have had the pleasure of knowing at least one female recruit who graduated from the Air Force Academy who was in better shape, physically and mentally than most of the male cadets graduating. While she is not in the Special Forces, she does hold a high position with AF Intel. My advice would be to start getting yourself as physically fit as possible. I would also start to focus on education, you can be the most fit person in the world and still be turned down if you lack the mental discipline necessary.
Best of Luck. |
