Who won the vietnam war?

Regardless of how the Vietnam War was fought, the answer about who really was the victor of that war lie on the answer to this question. After all the fighting was finally over, whose flag was it that was raised in the whole of Vietnam?. Was it the American flag or was it the North Vietnamese flag?.

No one did. The US and its allies ended up fleeing the country, with more than 300,000 dead and five times that number in wounded. South Vietnam no longer exists. More than 1,000,000 Vietnamese soldiers died, and anywhere from 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 civilians were killed. Laos and Cambodia were destabilized and thrown into civil war. Does that sound like a real victory for anyone to you?

To simplify, North Vietnam won. Granted, they suffered horrific losses, but they're also the only ones that acheived their objectives: the US was ejected, the South was conquered and the country united.

On the battlefield, the U.S. But our illustrious politicians decided to withdraw those troops and end the war. So politically, the advantage went to North Vietnam. The media, and modern day liberals teach that we lost Vietnam, which is the furthest thing from the truth. U.S. forces won every battle they were engaged in during the Vietnam conflict. To call it a "loss" is nothing but a spit in the face of every Vietnam veteran who served over there. They deserve much better.

We were there to combat the spread of communism. The US won every battle, but when we left the country, the north swept in, and could claim a final victory. It was really a screwed up political war in that the US forces couldn't engage enemy forces once outside of the country, so the VC could simply stage and regroup in other countries like Laos.

Yes there was a real winner of this war! The international bankers that funded and armed both sides! They have been the only winners in every war on the planet for the last 2000 years! In fact they started most of them including the current messes we are in!
