Who would pull the trigger if someone broke into your home?

I live in a great state as if a burglar comes in your house and you shoot him your not even going downtown.If they come on your property like a stalker you shoot and kill them if it's off the porch you may have to go to court ' on the porch they'll come and get him' and i;ll go take a nap.We had a burglar in our house and if i would of had my gun then i would of shot them' but they jumped out the window when i woke up and said what the hell is going on.

Simply for breaking in, no. Chambering a round should be enough to let them know I mean business.
If threatening my family, there would be no hesitation.

Me... If someone breaks in, I'm not going to bother with a lengthy interrogation to determine his intentions. At the end of the day, I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried out by 6.

I would. 'Course, I'd give them an opportunity to surrender and wait for the police, first. If the didn't respond to that in, oh, 3 seconds then yeah I'd pull the trigger.

Sure I would and so would anyone else, it is our instinct to survive if we are threatened. People who say they could not kill, have not been put in that spot.

Too many possible situations to answer this questions honestly.

Although I own several weapons for protection, I don't think I'd go blasting an intruder without proper situational awareness. I've been trained otherwise.

I live in a state run by democrats. If I shoot a armed man who entered my home I most likely will end up in jail.
They want us to call the police and let them shoot the bad guy and we all know when seconds matter the cops will be there in a few minutes.
But if I had too, I would shoot the bugler whether he/she was armed or not. I'd rather take no chances with the safety of my family I don't care what any democrat thinks. My family has more of a right to live than anyone who dares breaking entering into my home

.44 mag right between the eyes. unless I use the .45 auto. If the missus is alone, then the .357 mag will bark loudly at the intruder. I don't miss, and she is better than me.
I group 1-1/2" at 30 yards with the .44, she groups 1" at 30 yards with the .357

In Tennessee if someone is committing a felony against you, you are immune from civil liability and criminal prosecution if you kill them!

And for the people who answered this question differently the only other answer is "the intruder would pull the trigger and kill me and my family".

don't have a gun, and I don't need one....
I have 2 big dogs that are very overprotective of me and my family. If someone did go as far as to make it in, they'd be lunch...
besides that the police are right around the corner so they'd find themselves busted pretty quick.

First, I would get out my gun, then call the police. Next, I would tell them to leave. If they didn't and decided to come after me, then Yes I would pull the trigger. Legally, you cannot shoot them unless they are actually a threat to your life or another person's life. So if they are just taking stuff, but aren't actually hurting anyone, you can't shoot. If you do, they could or the surviving family members can sue you. Even if they broke in, as long as they did not attack you, or have a weapon and threaten you, your chances of winning in court are minimal.

And Yes, I am a member of the NRA.

I wouldn't dare in Massachusetts. I would go to jail. I do however keep a hatchet and several knives around and would very quickly kill anyone breaking in. That way I would do a few weeks in a "nut house", but if I used a firearm in the people's republic of Massachusetts, I'd go to jail for sure. You are supposed to let your wife be raped and murdered before you can "violate someones civil rights" here.

Yes. I keep a .40 glock with a 3.5lb pull loaded with 14 hollows at all times. If i'm going to shoot them, i'm not going to take the chance that the projectile will go through them and hurt anybody else.
