Why are Democrats and the media so eager for US to lose in IRAQ?
Find answers to your legal question.

Why are Democrats and the media so eager for US to lose in IRAQ?

At this point in time it is clear for the Domcrats, RINO's (repulicain in name Only), and the media (NBC, CBS, NY TIMES etc) they are cheering for the US to fail in IRAQ. It has also become clear with their talking point matchin Al Queda's, Iran's leader, and terrorist in Iraq that for them - the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Bush is their shared enemy as is the USA.

We live in a dangerous time when our leaders are willing to support the spitting at troops and calling them failures.

Because they want a Democrat as our next President. They are willing to sell their soles to the devil(s) to make Iraq a failure so that folks will blame the Republicans and in turn vote for the Democratic candidate for President.

Also as has been said the media is in the negative business. Negative sells and so they only look for the failures in Iraq. I will be the first to admit that there are a lot of bad things happening, however if the media didn't show ever bomb attack and give the publicity to them that they do, then I believe that the attacks would go down. If the majority of coverage was only the good things that are taking place in Iraq then I believe that we would gain more support for what we are doing.

We do live in dangerous times and I believe even when not if another attack happens in the USA the media will spin it as a failure on the part of the Bush administration.

They move towards a loss in Iraq because after they screwed us in Vietnam they held on to congress and the white house for a long time afterwards.

Because that means a political victory for them.

ST
Because the cool thing to be is anti american Americans these days. They have no pride.

Curt
Because they get to be "right" and it will help them get elected.

Its hard if not impossible to win a war when the media is against it.

Pure politics, polls and power. The left and the Media have invested in a defeat platform that is supportive of a loss in Iraq. It is their one and only political platform now until 08, any success would play and look as if it supports Bush.

Politicians and politics in the US are becoming downright evil, and I believe it is the party to the left that is very much to blame for this. Their standing in the polls and their winning at all cost seems to take precedent over the safety and security of this country.

Their mantra of bringing the troops home doesn't say that if we do that, the enemy will follow. They don't tell their constituents that the war will be back on our shores, as it was on 9/11, once we grab our ankles and leave Iraq. Frankly, they don't tell their constituents anything, because lemmings don't reason, they just follow!

The media is hard to figure except to say, they seem to get more mileage out of attacking this country than they do the opposition, whether it be militarily or politically!

mamasquirrel
No one is cheering for a failure. They simply see it happening. And no one is spitting on our troops, either...they are begging our "fearless leaders" to bring them home because they are sick of seeing our young men and women die needlessly for someone elses' civil war.

If the Iraqi government can't step up soon, then THEY failed, not us.

diogenese19348
A) NOBODY is spitting on the troops. Nobody.
B) Would somebody please explain what *winning* in Iraq actually means. George is kind of lame on the subject. You are defining 'losing', what is 'winning'? What is our real goal, and how do we attain it? Then we can talk about it. Right now there is nothing, and THAT is why there is so much sentiment against us being there.

So define what we are trying to accomplish...

That's an interesting conclusion to jump at.

When we hear of right wingers decrying the left or any who opposes the war as "defeatists" or "cowards" or "America Haters" or "wanting failure" I can only laugh.

This country was founded on free speech and open, contentious branches of government where educated men debate issues. It is from this that Madison realized his now famous dilemma.

Some 250 years later, open debate is defeatist. An opposing view is support for the enemy. A word decrying the policies of Bush is treason. That isn't democracy.

Its despotism and dogma.

Realize that every voice you hear in opposition validates not only the founding fathers but every American who has fallen in battle to preserve such. To say anything else is an insult to their sacrifice.

I'm not eager to see our troops fail and I am a democrat. I believe that this war was useless and most likely fought because Bush wanted to control the oil economy but that is besides the point. I am not for the war but I am for giving our troops the edge needed to either A) win this war and finish what they started or B) come home safely without any further deaths. It seems that the only way out is to finish what they started in my mind. Then again I am one of the most conservative democrats anyone will every meet. Back to your question, I can see far far left liberals saying something that stupid. They want to prove Bush and his staff wrong soooo bad that they would do something that dumb. What they fail to realize is that we are all Americans, Democrat or Republican and those are American soldiers fighting and giving their life's for our freedom... they don't see us by our political views and we should not damn them because we do not agree with the reason they are over there. In closing if any left-wing liberals did say this, they need to shut up! Quit making democrats look anti-American!

PS each view has their bad side, be it the Republican greed and total lack of compassion for the middle class or the Democratic far left whiny hippy.

All they care about is power!! They want the White House in '08 and the Senate and Congress in '08 & 2010. If Bush's policies can fail it makes them look good! Even if we have another 9/11 they will use it to blame Bush saying, "He didn't do enough to protect us!!! It's time for a change!" Funny though, they won't mention how they tried to tie his hands and resisted everything he tried to do. They do not care about the people!! They care about getting and keeping power. ("Uncle Sam's Plantation" by Star Parker is a good book on the subject.)

You speak of "cheering for the U.S. to fail," wake up and smell the coffee, we've ALREADY LOST !! Stop watching Bill O'Reilly and the Fox (GOP) "news" station and you might get some real Facts not propaganda.

This point of view is as clear to you as our serious troubles in Iraq to those of us living in reality. Why do you think the commanders and Rumsfeld are no longer there? Why do you think the Iraq study group was formed? Why do you think the President is being pressed to alter strategy in Iraq-and not just be Dems, but by the military.

Once you awaken from your dream, please write back. Just saying you're going to win is not enough to ensure victory-you have to do the things that actually make this happen. Pointing out that fact and working for improvements actually takes more effort and courage than simply "staying the course" when the "course" clearly isn't working.

WO LEE
Lose what?
On the same token, WIN what?
That scare tactict Bush used found refuge only in the minds of simple minded folks like you.
Bush is an Illegal president.
His War is Illegal.
Based on these facts not only democrates are eager to pull out of Iraq, Republicans as well are believing Bush lied and missled the nation and the world about the Illegal war in IRAQ.

SGT. D
It sure seems that way. I believe it's all politics. The media is pissed because our politicians are proving that the media can't influence politics and that is pissing off the Media. You can't tell me that there is nothing good happening in Iraq. Daily I have read stories from our troops about how the Iraqi people encourage us to stay, but none of these stories make it into the media. I wonder why? All i can say is to stand strong america and like the old saying goes, "believe none of what you read and half of what you see"

bush is al qaeda's best friend.
this stupid war has given al qaeda more power than it ever had.
or ever would have had.

by your logic "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" bush is in trouble.

bush has had far more troops in Iraq than they are putting in now.
and they didn't win.
they can't put more now, because there just aren't any more.

they've not changed their strategy.
it's still a bull in a china shop.

no-one wants al qaeda to win.
but they're going to, because there just are not any more good options.

If Bush and the military should pull it off now, boy! aren't they all going to look damned silly and petty. (Not that they don't, already).

Where do you people get this stuff? You are either unwilling to understand or unable to understand. Why are you so willing to follow Bush? If something is a failure, it is the responsibility of those who govern to change course.

Its not a R or D thing-- it is a US thing. If we are losing there and are not making progress, we need to reevaluate why we're there, justify costs and understand what change of course is necessary. Iraq was supposed to be the EASY war. In 4 years, we are no further along than we were just after we toppled Sadaam-- e.g. Electicity output levels are lower now than pre-war. How is that better?

In Korea and Vietnam (and other conflicts), we got to a point where we said-- enough is enough, get out.

The definition of insanity is doing the same failing thing over and over and expecting a different result.

You people are lemmings. Are you so willing to follow Bush that you're willing to mess up your OWN party or even the US itself?

what do you mean? we've already lost...
