None of the answerers consider victims of war unless the victim is an American Soldier. I think that's their problem. They are conditioned to believe that victims of war (minus American soldiers) are "COLLATERAL DAMAGE" and their deaths mean nothing.
We only have one life on this earth. It's not like you can kill a guy and he comes back. That PERSON, that HUMAN BEING is gone!
People (yes that means I see you as human beings too), do you look at the victims faces? Can you look them dead in the eye, look at their tears and tell them that your bombs, your bullets, your vengeful nature is for their own good? |

They are seen by the population of the US as heroes because of how they are depicted in movies and, to some extent, in the news. The people of the US are generally lied to about the role of the US government in international affairs and the idea that the US fights for "democracy" around the world. The only time the US fought for true democracy was during WW-2 and since then the US has fought against against democracy, installing right-wing dictatorships in its satellite countries (South Korea, South Vietnam, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Turkey, the Shah of Iran etc).
US soldiers are not seen as heroes by most people of other countries either because of the standard of the soldiers or because of the role they play in carrying out the US policies around the world. Compared with Australian, British or Israeli soldiers, the US soldier is poorly trained and led (although they are well armed). |

If your in a country that has no wars at all, then your in one of those countries that doesn't really stand for anything. American Soldiers are seen as hero's because America stands for freedom. America wouldn't have a country without the sacrifices of American Soldiers. Maybe your country doesn't view American Soldiers or your own soldiers as hero's. We don't expect you to look at American Soldiers the way we do. If your not American it doesn't really matter anyways. |

If you are not American then you need not even ask.
You have already labeled us as baby killers.
But I promise that should your freedom ever be in jeopardy your government will call the US Military for help. If your country is free to begin with.
Now, go tell your mother she wants you.

Throughout history in times of war you have had aggressors and those who have apposed them.
American soldiers have fought on American soil and foreign soil as well to battle the forces of evil.
Some appreciate their unselfish sacrifices on behalf of others and others refuse to recognize them.
Freedom is never free.
But talk is always cheap. |

No, they don't. Our soldiers go after military targets, people who are trying to hurt us, or our allies. Those who do deliberately kill innocents end up on trial in OUR courts.
Remember the news stories?
Islamic fighters who deliberately kill innocents are cheered and rewarded, even after death in their theology. You really have a twisted view of our military.
They are heroes because they risk their lives for us. |

Wheres your proof that they kill innocent civilians.
In all wars, there are civilian casualties, thats just the reality of war.
you might want to ask, why are the Taliban seen as heroes in Afghanistan by the Afghani's when all the taliban does is close schools, and threaten villages.
Personally , i see them as heroes because they stopped saddams dictator leadership in iraq, killing innocent people for fun, and mistreating people just because they are sunni or shiite .
Also, they are heroes , because in WWII, we helped the French out by pushing the Germans out.
They are Heroes.
also, you can't even spell HEROES, NOT HEROS! |

Hmmm your from a country with nothing to do with wars eh? Must be French (I'm just guessing as your profile name is Monalisa).
Seeing as how your government hand feeds you everything you've ever had in life (And you still b/i/t/c/h and moan about not being given enough for how little you do) it is obvious that your media is EXTREMELY biased and thrives on propaganda and the degradation of America. We saved you Europeans in two world wars so Its a mystery to me why you have such a warped view on the freedoms that American servicemen and women have fought so hard to protect (Not just for our country, but for yours). We're also seen as heros because your country has few, example being world war two when you were so sure you could defend France and as soon as the first German tank rolled by you threw up the white flag...
If it wasn't for us, it's possible you would be under Communist rule or Fascist rule or any of the other ist or isms, and now we're trying to save the free world from TERRORISTS that want anyone that is an INFIDEL (Anyone that is not radical muslim) to convert or die. The only thing I need to know about Islam I learned on September 11th...
Regardless, we'll always be there to come save your a*s*s when you need us most, now go back to your mother and if you ever see an American soldier (If the time comes you'll know who) shake his hand... |

Innocent people get killed because american soldiers i trying to do their jobs *** wipe, and its cause of people like you: o stupid americans, that we even have to fight. whatever your country is teaching you in history class, that o democracy in the us is horrible, is a retarded country democracy gives people the right to choose what they want to excell at what they want to excell at and we have the american soldier to ensure that we can do that, and to try and help people from third world countries like you to do so also, to live freely in a world rid of tyranny and opression to help people pracitce religion they want to practice, you may not support the war but you will always support the troops fighting in it. innocent people die because of inproper information of by fault of the individual for not following an order or doing something that can appear as a threat you see someone with a gun you listen not like the innocents who do die. but it is never the individuals who are at fault when a civilian is killed, and i can personally gaurentee you that ever soldier who has killed a civilian is gonna live with it the rest of there born lives in regret and complete disgust with themselves, so one day when ur shitty country gets taken over by opression and the us is walking ur streets giving you freedom, youll respect them more than anyonre. |
