Why are anti-iraq war people so stupid?

Iraq is a nation holding terrorists. There is nothing illegal about the iraq war. George W Bush is a saint like president. He is a very strong leader. Saddam has links to Al Qaeda there is proof and we found gas weapons in iraq making the war 100% legal.

I don't like the question because it assumes one view is correct. Despite your opinion on the war, or anti-iraq war positions, everyone has to think about what war really is. Noone knows enough about war to make strong statements about it, until they have been in one have seen death, smelled rotting dead bodies and seen up close and in person the lives that are torn apart and families burrying the dead. God bless the privelege of those who have not lost and who have not seen up close the true terror of war and can still have an opinion of it. |

There is everything illegal about the war with Iraq. There were absolutely no proof that Iraq was piling weapons of mass destruction. |

The writer of this queston disagrees with the "Saint": George W. Bush himself has stated in early 2006 that he believed Saddam Hussein had no links to al Qaeda, and even GW Bush's original rationale for the war was that Hussein had WMD prohibited him by the UN, and not that he had links to terrorists.
The respectable defense of any war is that it is justified, not that it is "legal".
Onl the subject of people being "stupid": the word "stupid" is understood to mean unintelligent. The most intelligent and scholarly people in the United States and the world number disproportionately among the war's detractors. Sorry. |

EVERYTHING you say is untrue. You are either totally ignorant, hiding from reality, or convinced of your own lies. I feel sorry for people like you who don't know how to think for themselves, or maybe don't know how to think at all. |

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.
Look it up online. Saddam hated Usama.
Yes NOW Iraq has terrorists...because... oh i dunno... we abolished their government and the borders are now completely open.
DUH think about it... seriously, don't just think immediately I'm wrong. Consider what I say.
By the way "there is proof"
Idiot, you don't show any.
God why don't you just come back with multiple links from multiple non-biased sites... THEN you'll change my mind. |

So if Saddam has links to Al Queda and we have links to putting Saddam in power by giving him weapons and training his troops.. that means other than the fact that the bush administration has links to Al Queda... america has links to Al Queda too.
Look at this video... seriously...

1 the gas weopons were used in 1986 when i was a serviceman we witnessed the aftermath of the attacks nobody worried about the kerds then
2 saddam had no links to alquida this organisation was funded trained and equipt by the USof A to overthrow saddam but were outlawed by the US when they refused to spill Arab blood that is why in that prison camp in cuba the us is holding not onlly muslim arabs but english american australian people who joined alqaida when it was funded and supported by the us |

OK, if you say so. And I have a great bridge for sale too...
For clarification. There is nothing "illegal" about the war, this is true. Being stupid is not illegal, being started for lame, untrue reasons is not illegal. The president (who is probably one of the farthest things from sainthood) has the right to declare war, it is one of his powers given him by the constitution. AND congress has funded it. SO = legal.
HOWEVER, to be clear - THERE ARE NO LINKS between Saddam and Al Qaeda that have bee supported by independent means. The gas weapons found are the same ones originally found but are NOT "weapons of mass destruction". GET IT RIGHT, even the president and cheney are admitting they have not found any.
BUT THAT TOO is beside the point. You asked why those who are anti iraq war are stupid. Clearly you are. It doesn't have to be illegal or have no weapons found for me to think we are not the world's police force. We should NEVER go into a war without a strategic plan - we don't have one. Intel was BAD, expectation from the Iraqi people was wrong.
But the bottom line is that the freedom of other coutries from dictators that they really didn't seem to want to get rid of themselves (which IS THE REASON bush is saying we are there now - get updated) is no reason for MY countrymen and women to be losing their lives. That's it - plain and simple - I'm biased.
None of the reasons you give in support of calling me stupid has any bearing on me being against the war - and if you thought for yourself - you might think otherwise as well. |

Not wanting to risk our Brave Military on a War for nothing, does not make a person stupid!
I served this Country with Honor and Integrity and for an @ss wipe like you, to say Anti-War people are stupid, I take Great Offense to that. Many of my fellow Military Brothers serving in Iraq today, are against the Iraq War!
Going into Afghanistan was the right thing to do...Iraq was not. Saddam had no ties with Bin Laden...as a matter of FACT, he hates Bin Laden and found him to be a threat to his own regime!
When you are in the Military, you follow orders...not your own opinion!
Before you come on here with your Bull S*it, get your proof and post it along with your question.
As far as Gas Weapons, the entire World already knew Saddam had them. He used them on his own people for years and the rest of the World, did not care...Including the USA!
I am for the War against terror...as are all decent minded people... but the War against terror, was in Afghanistan and not in Iraq. Before the USA went into Iraq, there was no terrorism in Iraq.
The USA has created a big mess in Iraq and there is no end in sight. The Iraqi people should have made the decision on whether to get rid of Saddam or not. If they did not have the guts to do it, that was their problem, not ours.
I don't care what you or the rest of your Conservative buddies have to say...we should have kept all of our Military in Afghanistan and caught Bin Laden, before doing anything else!
Now, Go ahead all of you Pro Iraq War Heartless Conservatives and give me all the thumbs down you want...It won't hurt me!
What hurts me is...all of the Brave Soldiers who are returning to The USA, in pine boxes and yet most of the public doesn't see it because yet again, The Conservatives took away the freedom of the press to take pictures or film any of the returning dead!
If the press had the freedom to show the public how so many of our Brave Soldiers are returning back home, more people would be speaking out against the War in Iraq.
It was the pictures of all the returning dead from Vietnam that finally made most of America wise up and speak up against that War! |

Well this country allows everyone to be entitle to their own opinion. I am for the war, even if it has killed our US troops and other innocent people. Iraq beliefs tells the majority of their citizens that we are the enemy just because we dont have the same laws and our people have more freedom.
People that are against the war are mostly those who are not knowlegdeable in what the reality of the world is. |

You might wanna chill on the Bush - saint comparison, but on one thing you're correct: most Americans do not understand that the hatred for the United States among certain groups in the Middle East is a danger that is on a different time-wave than Americans are accustomed to thinking. Their cultural disdain for us is rooted in centuries -- not just a few years. After a little study, I came to this realization and now see that pulling out of the Middle East too soon would probably be a huge mistake. As much as I would like to see the conflict end, bringing our men home would not end it. |

I see things much like you do. To answer your question, I think many people in the USA & other western nations, have been successful in putting the real cost to freedom out of their minds. It is too scary for them to see the world as it really is. They act like this is the way it's always been and will always be. The truth is that the freedom we enjoy now is such a short moment in time, a rarity in history. If we aren't willing to care for it and make huge sacrifices to keep it, it will be eradicated form the world.
I explain/remind people that if the Civil War hadn't been fought and won, there would still be slavery everywhere and it would be accepted by Christians, just as it is by Arab Muslims.
I still have trouble grasping how many people were killed in the Civil War. In many of the small towns in New England, most of the inhabitants are related, because so many men went to fight that it effected the reduced population until today. I am not saying that they are inbred or anything close. The male population of a generation was reduced drastically and the result is still there to see, if you look. I haven't been to the South yet, but I am sure that there were as many or more changes down in those states.
The Civil War was so bloody! But so necessary!
If, as the Declaration of Independence says, "All men are created equal", then don't those of us who are blessed to know and understand freedom have a responsiblity to help the rest of the world to find freedom, one way or another? Not always by war, hopefully,
but isn't that part of our reason for existing, to improve the human condition? I have seen that those to the left have a tendency toward bigotry but they are hypocrites about it
In conclusion, I can only say that if something is worth living for, it is worth dying for. Our way of life as Americans is certainly at the top of that list!
I, too, admire our President. Have you read the book, "Tuxedo Park"? It is the true story of how scientific discoveries by certain private individuals not only allowed us to win WW11, but are still driving technology today. It may interest you. |
