That's a false assumption and you know it. Lots of the guys I knew in the Navy were libeals and... its true if you do some research, you will see almost none of the Republicans in the House, Senate and the VP served. They had other priorities.

I like to compare someone like Geoge McGovern who flew B-24s to Ronald Reagan who movie-acted. There are more conservative chicken hawks than you can count. .

Republicans like spending money on the Military. The Military likes spending money on the Military.

Democrats do not like spending money on the Military. The Military likes spending money on the Military.

That is why, in large part, most service personel vote Republican. Many of them probably had liberal leanings as kids, many of them will likely continue to express and believe in these leanings after they get out of the service.

Personally I think that a strong military has always been a necessity. Many don't see things that way and they have valid points also.

Brian, I don't think the question was directed at the head count in the house and senate. I do believe he asked a general question of liberals?
And it is true about liberals hugging trees rather than a gun! Just look at Hollywood...they talk big but act it out on TV or on screen.
What's funny is when people say the Republicans are the rich end of politics, there are more rich senators and congressman in the Democratic party than any other party..Again, look at Hollywood, I think there is more money there than anywhere...

Dunno - not sure that's right, but far too many Liberal leaders are far too willing to appease and never stand up to worldwide bullies. Didn't work for Chamberlain with Hitler, didn't work for Roosevelt with Stalin, and it doesn't work now.

The fundamental flaw in Liberal foreign policy is that they believe everyone can be reasoned with. History has shown us repeatedly that this is not so. Any other interpretation of historical evidence in this area is self-delusional nonsense.
