No One! No One! Has the right to disrespect our troops for doing their jobs! The so called church that protests at soldiers funerals are actually breaking the law in most states and steps have been taken. They are also the reason that the Patriot Guard Riders started. They protect the family and friends of the fallen soldier from these psychos! If you haven't already, you should check them out. Wonderful organization!

hah you're talking about the westboro baptists. they are planning to protest at a funeral where i live AGAIN. i think it's tomorrow? or the day after i'm not sure but anyway they say they are doing it because of the proximity of the case that they LOST in York PA. I think that family was awared 10 million (that they will never see). they somehow connect "fags" God, and the military. i have no idea. o and this soldier that they plan to protest at? he just came back from Iraq and was here a month before he was killed in the car accident. how low can they stoop before they are stopped???? I know they have freedom of speech but come on!!! at a funeral????

You're talking about Fred Phelps and the WBBC. They protested at my school (on school grounds) because my school did the "Laramie Project" and my friends and i had to take part in convincing the town to not cancel the play. Some guys attacked them while they protested. the WBBC protests at funerals and gay events because they want to be attacked. that is how they make money. they get attacked and sue and make a fortune. they just lost a big case a millions or billions of dollars so thats good cause they might get shut down. their website is www.godhatesamerica.com

Most people act the same way towards police, funny how they change there opinion when they are in need of assistance.

i know. well, that one church down south that was doing that stuff got sued and owe a family 11 million dollars for doing it, so at least thats one battle won when it comes to terms of silencing ignorance.

Perspective makes a big difference. People have wonderfully rich opinions and beliefs and others may not see the world the same way you do. Be thankful that everyone is different.

EDIT:
While it may be hurtful to you and your family, that certainly isn't the point of their protests. It is highly unlikely that they are that callous. More likely that they are protesting the reasons why our soldiers were sent overseas than spitting on their graves. Same visible activity, different purpose.

Lisa, the people who are sating "we need to come home" "why are we there" "why did we go over there to begin with" haven't been there. the ones who have or are there aren't complaining, they are supporting each other, the other ones want to hear themselves talk. you won't hear the military families speak this way either, most times, though i have seen it a few times here. a protest is the freedom of speech, with is fought for, not a God given right, by our military! a funeral is the last place that should EVER be done! everyone has the freedom of speech.(even, fred phelps and the wbbc, though i do not agree with them, and I think that if they dont support the military, why should they use the rights the military fought for,) however, in the US, it is a freedom, and they did just lose a court case worth almost 11 million, im sure that wont slow them down any though. as far as selfish and stupid, some people never grow up, and still need to have the attention they needed as a child, maybe they just didnt get it as a child i dont know, thats another question i guess

I'm a former Army Ranger but I've been a paramedic for the last 11 years and now I'm in the police academy. I don't agree with those people. They're religeous fanatics just like the ones we're fighting only their home-grown. Somehow their preacher has been able to force his opinions on his followers and naturally they just sit and gaze at him and believe everything he says. It's kind of like the Jim Jones story many years ago. He was such a good speaker and had such charm that he lured those people to that island and talked them in to drinking the poisoned koolade and they basically said "yes sir, me first please" like only a brainwashed idiot would do. But I have to keep remembering that I wore the uniform so they can have their freedom of religion and their right to meet, protest, etc. I just have to bite my tongue. I understand how frustrated you are about it. I wish some people had more common sense. I'm a Republican too it's obvious! lol The liberal far left is kind of like the Jim Jones people in a way. They all seem to believe if we pull out and bring our troops home that the violence will stop in Iraq. People like that are dangerous especially when in a leadership position because they'll never learn until they achieve what they want and then it ends up being the wrong decision, then they act like they never said to do it and try to blame it on somebody else.

The biggest problem with your idiot protesters is that the Constitution gives them the 'right to'. They don't realize that with that right comes the responsibility to not abuse that right.
The lack of education is a big part of the content of these abusive and down right idiotic protests.
I would expect that any one of the protesters would cheerfully beat the c rap out of any one who disturbed a funeral for a member of their family.

it's human nature to be selfish. that's how we survive. that's also how all the great problems and wars of the world were created. by selfishness and ignorance. they don't see the difference between the death of a soldier and the selfishness of a politician. people are stubborn, and won't take a different view of things as an answer. it's people like that who make things go to hell. it's people like that who are the cause of pain and suffering. it's people like that who would shoot you in the back when you turn around. it's people like that who really do the killing. and it is also people like that who give thumbs downs to answers. they won't see eye to eye, until something bad happens to them. then, hopefully they will wake up.
