What did Iraq have to do with 9/11...and wars are always "big deals", especially for us that have children serving in them |

Um hello read the newspaper or something. People aren't over it because their sons, husbands, fathers etc.. are still out there dying. After our troops are all home (the ones who haven't died for Bush's vendetta) ask this question again. |

our loved ones are still in iraq. until they come home, you'll keep hearing about it. |

because it isn't over, and the man who did this is still in office |

because my cousin is in iraq and might be killed because bush wants oil contracts, and his private contractors <which is illegal> to get millions of dollars in our tax money so that he can get kickbacks.
this war is doing nothing to HELP americans, only hurt us, why is that so hard to see? |

Wings: Perhaps you need to clarify your thoughts and your position. The initial statements you make sound very calloused.
Denying our enemy the abilitiy to attack us is extremely important to the future safety of this nation and our freedoms. Denying him a future base of training and operations is an incredibly important part of that. |

People are still "stuck" on it because it is still happening. It is a problem, and everyone wants to solve it. Even if you think war is no big deal, that still does not answer the question of how to manage this war, and what resources, including people, we should devote to it. Are you trying to suggest that nothing matters in this life? Even if we all believed that, we still have to make decisions as to how to get through each day. |

War is a "big deal" & people will be stuck on the war in Iraq until those soldiers who are "stuck" over there get to come home. What happened on 9/11 was a tragedy & u shouldn't make light of that. |

You're right and why do we even cry when they die. Why feel sad? Why care at all? It happens all the time so its right and just. Big deal, right?
F*** off! |

err... people die all the time, but when people die so "multitudinously" ( Quoting Renaud in Count of Monte Cristo. What a word! multitudinously.) it becomes necessary to act.
As far as Iraq is concerned, people are still dying there in huge numbers, so its obvious that natural humanity or morbid curiosity makes people think and talk about it. Not to mention the fact that they are dying needlessly. O rater because of a diabolical plan. A man a plan an oil well... Sorry can't make up a palindrome

As you know, all flesh is grass, and sooner orlater, Saddy boy would have died or been assassinated like lots of dictators anyway. |

Why are people "still stuck on it"??????? Well, for starters, it's still going on. |

You make no sense I am afraid. You think it is better to be dead than making love to your wife and seeing your children!
How do you know they are in a better place?
Iraq had nothing to do with terrorist or 9/11 and if one more person uses that I think I will lose my mind! How can people keep repeating lies? |

wow. your a smart cookie. I dont even know what to say to this.? |

because people are dying.
because they feel that the government lied to them and the reason why we're in Iraq aren't valid
because they oppose anything that the current Republican government stands for
because they oppose anything that the current Democratic majority in the US government stands for.
because they are afraid.
because they are anti-Western civilization
because they are anti-USA
because they see this war as a continuity of the Crusades from the middle ages.
Because they have loved ones in the "big sandbox"
because they believe in their hearts that "violence solves nothing"
because they are anti-war
because they are pro-human rights and they feel that warfare of any kind denies citizens their basic human rights as espoused by a democratic society
because they don't know any better, and they follow the lead of someone they believe in regardless of whether or not the person is right, or truthful, or logical, or full of it.
because in the grand scheme of things the world is a much smaller place due to technology, modern infrastructure, and economic systems. Warfare disrupts the flow of things that make the world work.
Because in the history of Mankind is wrought with one group projecting it's will and desires upon another group violently.
Because this war is a conflict of national security.
Because this war is a conflict of ideology on a global scale
Because this war effects every aspect of life around the world on a level that most people can't see, or have bothered to figure out.
Because the World's largest economic entity is pouring BILLIONS of dollars into a industry and a area that is artificiallly inflating a marketspace that has unknown future projections if that continues.
I can go on, but I think you get the picture. There are a myriad reasons why people are still "stuck" on the war in Iraq. |

why dont you go over there and see how you like being shot at, raped, burned alive ect... all by Middle Eastern People who we are trying to help. |

Because many want the troops back home. If Bush had a brain which he doesn't . He would never had let it get this far. Please understand he has everyone thinking Iraq had to something to do with 9/11. |

We are still stuck on it because we are still there! Yes, people die all the time from causes like famine, natural disasters, etc. But to systematically decimate our own young male population for no reason for the past 4 years is ridiculous. THAT is why people care. And we will continue being stuck on it until all our troops are safe at home. |
|

uhm... people are stuck on it because well...... their husbands and sons and fathers are fighting the war. like for instance my husband who is a US marine and is soon to be going to iraq for the second time. kind of makes it a big deal to me |

2 reasons.
First its the war that will never end. The white house is not smart enough to know that Iraq is not like the US where we try to get along when in Iraq there are several cultures that want to be #1 or fight. Only way to bring a end to war is divide the country into 2 separate countries.
Second we were lied to about reasons going there and now about how its getting better in Iraq when nothing has changed in the last 3 years. Our top general gave the same speech he did 3 years ago so is he saying nothing has changed? |

I'm not sure I understand your question. War has always been a big deal. I cannot think of one instance when our military has been involved that it has not been a big deal. Technically there is no war in Iraq as the President has already declared the war to be over. (ha!) It is a big deal though because our troops are over there dying for no real discernable reason other than mediating a civil war. |

You must be very young to ask a question that history has already answered.
Some wars are good and some wars are bad... whether they are good or bad is never decided until many years later by historians.
This war is not about 9/11... 9/11 was deciding factor to start a war. This war is about a lot of things and I will not go into all of them because I do not want HATE email from anyone.
One thing you should know, the public only knows a part of what is going on. The news is tainted and the only people who REALLY know are there on both sides!
I have spoken to Marines and Sailors and some Army men and women who have been there.
I hope you never have to "know" war exists! |

Yes, people do die all the time. By accident, heart attack, suicide, or freak accident. Being murdered is another story, we capture and convict people who cold bloodly murder people. Why should this case be any different? We as a Country need to show terrorists that it is NOT ok to come over here and murder people. If we were not over in Iraq fighting for ourselves then it could be very possible that they would continue to come over here and we could even wind up at war here in America. I hate George Bush as much as anyone else does, but fighting the war is necessary. And no matter how evolved we are there will always be someone protesting the war. Its all a part of diversity. |

I think its because we want to win the war, we just can't give it up because that's not what Americans do |

I wish this all would end too my husband is deployed over there right now! And i wish he would come home! But there are so many ppl over there right now! But i think the deployments are not gonna be so long anymore, for some ppl! But over there is still alot to do!
