I really can't even believe that I am going to answer this, but here goes... As someone who just came back in January from a year in Iraq, I would be worried if those serving over there didn't look sad, and didn't look exhausted. My year there was the most physically and emotionally trying time of my life. Not only are you separated from your family and friends, but have to worry about your safety at all times. If your not thining about keeping yourself alive, your thinking about keeping all of you buddies safe. We all have one similar goal - To serve our time there to the best of our abilities and make it home to our loved ones.
I can't even believe someone could be so narrow minded to post a comment like that. Please tell me you are either under the age of 12 or were just joking to see if you could get a rise out of people like me. If neither of these are the case, then your just living under a rock or dont give a crap about the troops. |

Because the media is controlled by the leftist liberal meatheads, and all they want to show is the downside of the war. Why? Just to beat up the President. Obviously, no one likes war, no one wants war, but it's here and it's real.
There are positive things that have happened over there, but the moonbats won't show you that because it doesn't fit their agenda. Now I ask you, how much positive news have you heard since this whole thing has started? Granted, the bad outwheighs the good, but there is good, you'll just never hear about it.
And you know something, all this does is provide the enemy with more ammunition to justify their cause. They want us to be demoralized. They (the terrorists) want us to be negative about this, because they know from previous administrations (I won't name names but there's more than one of them) that when the public opinion is negative about something, those of us in charge will eventually throw up their hands and retreat.
The "Pullout Deadline" is prime example of this. How dumb of an idea is that? Why not tell the police you're going to rob a bank, and how you're going to do it three days before you do it? Why not tell a burgular when you're going on vacation and how to get into your house? That just doesn't make any sense.
It's all about the left's agenda to Bush bash and prove him wrong. Ask a vet that's been there how much good has been done. They'll fill your ears with news you never heard. |

I maintain that CNN, with their obvious liberal bias, considers it their job to present soldiers in Iraq in the most negative light possible. The obvious effect is that serving their agenda in this way attempts to influence our preception of the war and the soldiers attitude regarding it. Smiling soldiers have no place on CNN - that would send the wrong message back home! |

Their friends may have died.
They may miss their families.
They may miss home.
They may be mentally and physically exhausted. |

Because they know when CNN is there the report will usually be a negative one on something against either America or George Bush. |

Ha! we use to throw rocks at the cnn report van when I was in iraq. We use to run into their report tent and yell INCOMMING!! The fox reporters were way more cool and they would bring us playboys and stuff. Hooaaa for fox!! |

Probably because there CO told them they can't waste the reporter and photographer who keep sticking there noses where they don't belong. |

We all know that's not true, but anyways, it could be because they know that no matter how much progress they are making, and how much the Iraqi people want them there, they are going to get only negative coverage on CNN.
CNN live from Denny's near Detroit. |

They miss their families. Being in Iraq or Afghanistan is crappy because it's really hot there. Sitting around all day in the heat waiting for further orders is not exactly the funnest thing in the world. |

maybe they just dodge a bullet or their friend just took one... how would you look if you were over there and bombs, gunfire everywhere around you? you wouldnt look like a happy camper either !!!!! |

"I'm here without you, but you're still on my lonely mind!
I dream about you baby, and I think about you all the time!
I'm here without you, but you're still with me in my dreams, and tonight, its only you and me!"
Says it all doesn't it? Everyone gets homesick, and lonely for their loved ones. My husband only left yesterday... and it already seems an eternity... again.
Edit: Maybe they'd just listened to this, or another sad song. |

It's strange, isn't it? I mean, war is such a fun thing! |

Because they could be killed at any moment and never get to see their families again. They are also probably tired of seeing people get blown up!! |

Should they be looking like war is fun you moron? |

Why are they so sad you asked? Maybe because they just picked-up the pieces of their buddy. |

BECAUSE THE MEDIA IS BIAS!!! the media shows you the war they want you to believe is going on there. for all of us who have been there we can tell you this is not the case at all! |

I stopped watching the news when my husband went to Iraq in 2004, but I would venture to guess it is because they are so tired and they are assigned a very difficult job. Our military is stretched way to thin, and multiple overseas assignments are the norm for Reserve and Guard members now. It's draining. |

Why are the Palestinians looking so sad? Bombs coming in their country? Why are they so sad?
Does that show what kind of sad unfeeling creature you look like when you post this crap? |
