Americans like to say there special forces are better but they are modelled of the UK special forces and trained by them, (no offence to Americans), remember when the navy seals tried to rescue hostages from Iran and made a huge **** up of it, that's one example of SAS and SBS superiority. The SAS are more secretive and also they are trained more and better than any other force in the world.
They are the best because the UK is very militeristic but does'nt make it well known.
They are the best but because they are so secretive about what they do it's hard to say why. |

The british sas is a good sf team but i don't believe they are the best. There are many good ones out there it really depends on the role you use them for. Each unit has different task that they are good at. USAF Para rescue are great at going in to rescue down pilots,seals, delta and sas are awesome counter-terrorist groups amongst other things. Army rangers and the russian Spetsnaz are a incredible advanced infantry units which are considered SF also. The Spetsnaz also handle handle allot of internal security issues too. So when asking which is the best its difficult to say who is the best in a general sense. They all are the best.The US , the Germans , Russian, and the UK have some of the greatest Special forces units in the world. |

All western Special Ops units are pretty much indistinguishable from each other...same type of personnel, equipment and training.
Edit: British Special Ops forces train WITH U.S. forces just like they do with us. British SAS medics attend our Special forces medical school (18D) because it is the best battlefield emergency medical school in the world. |

I am sure that the British Special Forces are the best in the UK, but here our SEALS, Green Berets,Rangers, Airborne Infantry,Combat Controllers and Marine Spec Ops are the best of the best...
Bottom line is that they are all good at what they do, you can go all day and play "My special forces are better than yours"
