Anyway, I used to think that there's plenty of fit people in the other branches who could make it... but being in the ANG now... I've definitely changed that opinion. Even the bodybuilder guy that spends every day at the gym couldn't make it if he starts crying over every stupid little thing at the drop of a dime.

i agree with blob puncher dont start talkin **** till' u have walked in there shoes there the best train an the hardest the can shoot better run faster and fight better than anyone ive ever meat dont knock it till uve been there or done they have

Well not only do the have the hardest and longest basic training, but every Marine also goes to the School of Infantry before going to their MOS school. They are all infantry trained, no other branch can say this. They also are selective about who they let in. They do not give a bonus for joining, you join because you want to try to be a Marine, part of a brotherhood.

they have the hardest training, they're essentially the first ground troops in, they use older technology (compared to the army), and they have have higher standards to enlist (compared to he other military branches).

T T - The Army are usually the last ones home. After the Marines are done they usually pack up and go home. The Army is the occupational force.

Am - Marines are more selective than the Army, but compared to the Navy and Air Force they aren't selective at all.

they are the toughest. im guessing but i think the other branches have more advanced weapons.

The boys I knew that joined the Marines were great human beings and made great Marines but they were the C students in every class, never the best players in any sport....they just didn't stand out in anything. Being a Marine gave them something they'd never had in life: it was something they could be really proud of....and they were.

I know they are good at what they do, but let civilians brag on them, let civilians honor them. I hate pride, I hate bragging. I also hate it when someone thinks they are better than someone else. No one and I mean NO ONE is better than anyone else! They may be better at that, BUT I am better at what I do. We each have our purpose and they seem to forget that. So they need to get off their pedestal.
