Why are the war supporters ignoring this information?

Most Americans want Iraq war funding cut: poll

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Most Americans oppose fully funding U.S. President George W. Bush's $190 billion request to fight the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while a majority supports expanding a children's health care program he has threatened to veto, a Washington Post-ABC News poll shows.

"while a majority supports expanding a children's health care program he has threatened to veto, a Washington Post-ABC News poll shows."

Just an FYI for idiots who see the words "Children's health care" and assume "This is a great plan!" that bill would add a $1 tax to cigarettes, a tax that would mostly effect the poor (You know, the families of the children who need that healthcare?) and would require 22 milion new smokers to meet budget expectations. And if you believe the tax would help end smoking, then tell me what sense it makes to fund a health care initiative on the backs of a shrinking source of money?

Oh, and us "war supporters" (i prefer to think of us as people who don't want to doom the iraqis to invasion, civil war and war lords) fully support the $190 billion request, because I'm willing to give whatever it takes to give our men and women overseas the equipment, supplies, and support they need to finish their mission and come home safe.

because the washington post is a lefty paper and isnt part of the real world..
most americans know what is at stake in the middle east
and we cant let those nuts have any control over it..
which is what would happen if we cant help iraq become self governing..
havnt seen the health care bill but im sure there are so many attachments to it that it is buried in bs so much that gw has to veto it..

You post something from main stream media and call it information? hahahahahahahahaha

There's no such thing as a war supporter. Given a choice, no one would rather be at war than not be at war. There are, however, very many victory supporters.

Polls are not acurate at all. Polls had Kerry winning by a landslide too.....

Dave
They made campaign promises to powerful people and are now paying them back at the cost of lives. These lives belong to people who really believe in the country, not just it's monetary system.

Daniel F
Most war supporters have the same mentality like Bush.

Because most of us don't support the war, we support our troops and seeing to it that the Iraqis don't get over run before they are able to take care of themselves. And by the way President Bush was elected, not appointed. I do not support government health care for anyone, if you have a child take care of it yourself, if you are sick take care of it yourself, our grandparents would put $$ away for emergency reasons one of which was medical care and medicine, they didn't want a hand out like most of the folks in this country do now, we use to take care of ourselves and didn't expect anyone else to do it for us. We should take care of the troops and whatever they and their families need as they work for us...

I would veto the children's health care program as well. This will allow illegals to run up doctor bills and raise our tax's to pay for them. Other than that you know he is going to get his money one way or the other.

Dina W
Yeah, and our Senators voted for the funding. Imagine it passed 92-3. That means almost all but 8 voted to fund the war again.

Rusty
I'll bet you were one of the people who said that Kerry would win because "most" Americans wanted him, right?
The real question is, "Why do you think your idea is the dominant one?"
Republicans will win again, because Democrats believe their own polls.

Not exactly sure, but I would say because they are thinking about gas/oil, those that have died to get us here (backing out means they died for nothing), and that the child bill for health care will cost $35 billion for just 5 years

Because most of the war supporters are violent people. They are full of hate. If it wasn't Iraq it would be someone else. They invest their money in companies that perpetuate violence so War means money to them.

Because they, and the administration, refuse to understand what the majority of Americans want from war in Iraq, which is no more of it.

For the oil and the bravado though, they'll keep wanting to stay in Iraq.

whcwarrior_10 -You don't know what you're talking about! You are just another blind American sheeple, by choice!
Bush DID NOT GET ELECTED! He was appointed the position of President by THE ILLUMINATI!

Do some research! You have NO idea what you're talking about!
