Why are we in Iraq....?

If we don't help the Iraqi people establish their own democracy so that they have the power and the ability to seek out and destroy their militants/terrorists, we're going to see more attacks like we did on September 11th, 2001. I know the liberals like to blame President Bush, who just happened to be the poor slob in office at the time and who ordered the defense attack, but these group of terrorists started this back when Clinton was president. Only difference is, Clinton did nothing about it. The WTC was attacked for the first time when he was president and 17 of our sailors were killed right here on our own turf by a suicide bomber claiming to be from Al Queda. Yet Clinton did nothing...so, of course, they would come back and attack us again. Had Clinton the wimp done something, Bush wouldn't be blamed because there wouldn't have been any attacks the second time. We haven't been attacked since, have we? No. We're looking for Osama bin Laden to pay for ordering the attacks on our country and we're there to help the Iraqi government set up a democracy so that they can help themselves. I just wished more people understood. Unfortunately, some people hear rumors and as rumors go on down the line, little lies are added to them until it becomes this big twisted bag of untruths...and then there are some hate mongers who are just looking for any little thing to justify their hatred...and of course liberals hate Bush like we hate Obama because these men stand for what the opposition truly opposes.

We are in Iraq because the Congress of the United States overwhelmingly gave President Bush the authority to do so based on information from the CIA that they had weapons of mass destruction. Weather or not you disagree with the information used to go to war the fact is we went. We continue to be in Iraq to provide stabilization to the country and the region which is vital to US interests because of all the oil in the region.

Bush wanted to invade, so he'd go down in history books as a Great president.

Cheney wanted to give Haliburton a chance to rake in big bucks from no-bid government contracts and Iraqi oil.

Rumsfeld wanted permanent bases in the area.

Those were the real reasons. The reasons they gave were all lies.

When you find out, let me know. I've been asking that same question since 2003 and all I get is propaganda about WMDs and the war on terror. Personally, all I could see was that it was an attempt at getting a foothold in Oil Central to assure that we would be getting what we needed for fuel at any price while it provided a format to hand out no-bid military contracts to the admins pals.

I'm Iraqi and I guess that they do it is because of saddam that mo fo and the terrorists are killing everyone so the best country as you call yourself helps everyone who f**k around like iraq and afghanistan
