Why can't Iran and N.Korea have nuclear weapons too?

Does anyone know why there is so much opposition to Iran and N.Korea having nuclear weapons? I understand they form the "access of evil" but a moniker doesn't explain why.

I thought maybe it was because they were really aggressive, but when you look at the number of countries they have attacked / invaded in the last 60 years it doesnt appear that they are (Iran - 3, N.Korea - 1, Russia - 6, USA - 65).

Maybe it is because they have a history of using chemical / nuclear grade weapons on civilians (Iran - 1, N.Korea - 0, Russia - 3, USA - 6). Nope, that's not it.

I know it cant be because of their system of government as the USA is good friends with other autocracies and monarchies.

It definitely can't be human rights records as the USA would find it difficult to argue that point.

So why cant we all be fair and let Iran and N.Korea have nuclear weapons?

Would I trust Iran and N.Korea not to use nuclear weapons? As the US is the only country to use nuclear weapons so far, I would be more scared that they would use them again.

Iran the main supporter of terrorism? I thought it was Pakistan, hence last weeks 2bill aid.

The N.K.'s just shot off a missile to threaten every one of their neighbors. If they had a nuclear weapon, they could put it on the missile, and use it to blackmail the rest of the world. The Iranians, meanwhile, also support most of the islamic terrorists, who want to kill you. If Iran had the bomb, they would surely give it to the terrorists. I realize that people that think like you will never understand this until it goes off in your backyard, but thankfully there are still enough of us left with some common sense. Chamberlain thought that we could reason and appease the crazies in the 1930's, and he was proven wrong also. The result: WWII. Read your history, and you wouldn't have to ask dumb questions like this one....

Because they both extremely dodgy countries. For a start, Iran supply ammuntion and explosives to the taliban. What would happen if they were in control of nuclear weapons?

North korea are equally unstable although it's widley considered that wouldn't be able to fight a large war. But because of their leader in charge it is not in the worlds interest if they do possess nuclear weapons.

the UN decided long ago to beging a nuclear nonproliferation. that means to stop making nukes. its like the gun laws in california: if you had an AK before they went into effect, you can keep your AK. if you didnt have one before, you cant buy one now.
aside from that, iran and north korea are states that would aggressively use them, where the rest of hte world just uses them as a deterent.

While I agree with the astounding hypocrisies you've pointed out, I really think the world (yes, America, that means you, too) should be moving towards disarmament. Nuclear weapons are arguably the biggest threat to human civilization. To me it doesn't matter whether they're made by desperate North Koreans as a bargaining chip, or in the Livermore and Los Alamos laboratories as "reliable replacements." Get rid of all of them, and start putting money into useful things like education, healthcare, and public transportation.
