Why can soldiers hear Limbaugh and Hannity over on Armed Forces Radio, but not be allowed to hear Air America?

On Edit--just out of curiosity, for you guys in Iraq, have they told you yet that the reason for attacking Iraq was a lie? That Iraq didn't have any WMD's and was no threat to the US? Did they tell you that yet? Have they told you yet Iraq had nothing to do with the 9-11 attacks? You will get the truth on Air America, and only lies on Limbaugh or Hannity.

ALL kinds of crap is played on Armed Forces Radio, trust me. All most of want to hear is new songs. Not to mention, we really don't want to hear left wing spew when we're fighting a war they are against.

So a person can go on the Internet and listen to A America and you can listen to it on Satellite Radio.

Armed Forces Radio and Television Services buys up hundreds of hours of syndicated radio programming from all over, then each regional broadcaster orders specific programming out of that pile based on popularity with the listeners in that region....so it really comes down to listener polls or "ratings" compiled by each station, just like how radio works back home.

But most soldiers listen to iPods, not radio.

because they don't get enough requests for air america. especially since air america is failing in america they probably won't get enough calls from soldiers to put air america on. Also don't forget most soldiers are republicans

Sorry, but none of the answers so far is accurate.

It has to do with the producers releasing rights- AFRTS is not a for-profit service, they do not have pay commercials that will cover the fees for a show; thus, they have to request from the owners of the shows to allow fair use for little or no fees. Under a desire for representation of all sides (it is, after all, the American way, and military members are free to hold a variety of opinions), the AFRTS producers want to air a variety of shows. However, some producers won't release their shows for the lower costs.
It has nothing to do with the political slant of the shows.

2-Air America then becomes a version of "Lord Haw-Haw" & "Tokyo Rose", "Axis Sally" only broadcasting from inside the USA

3-When asked, the Troops Overwhelmingly wanted Hannity, Limbaugh,
