For the same reason Clinton didn't take him into custody when the Sudan offered him up like Prime Rib. 1. They didn't believe anything would REALLY happen. 2. They didn't have anything to charge him with. |

No he did not. The August 6th briefing was a regurgitation of previous intelligence and data, and not a specific prediction of any certain event. Anybody who was reading the news paper regularly at that point in history knew that Al Qaeda wanted to carry out a spectacular terrorist attack on the U.S. The presidents response was to ask for more than old data, "and stop swatting at flies."
Maybe Bill Clinton should have responded to two embassy bombings, an attack on U.S. militay barracks in Saudi Arabia, and the near sinking of the U.S.S. Cole with more than a suggestion to Bush than, "Hey W, that there Al Qaeda is BAD!"
Thanks Bill. |

You know what Clinton did about Al-Qaida? Nothing. Try to be unbiased and don't treat democrats like they are gods just because you don't like republicans. |

A better question is why did Clinton not apprehend Osama himself? if he knew Al Queda was such a danger why did he twice turn down offers from other countries to have osama turned over to the US?.....because he was too busy lying to congress and molesting under age interns. |

I guess it's because it's hard to take an administration serious after they steal the "w" keys off the White House computers before they leave. |

Since your idol clinton is such an expert on bin laden, why did he not he not take him out when he had the chance ? And by the way, Ollie North warned about bin laden during the Regan administration. Just another Bush basher who's loose with the truth ! |

So...he had a month to prevent the worst terrorist attack in American history. Wow, yeah, that's DEFINITELY long enough to track down 19 guys in a population of 298,444,215 (as of July 2006), and stop them from going through with their plan. Perhaps he should have declared martial law, and shut down all modes of transportation until they were found, right? Sure, that would have worked GREAT. Unless, of course, the people panicked...then it wouldn't be so good, would it.
By the way, have you ever seen the PDB that was given to Bush? Every single person that's read it said it was all old news, and said nothing about the impending attacks. |

George W. Bush is a moran. He should be impeached and executed for high treason of the United States of America.
Hes too stupid to think, he paid his way through elementry, middle, high school. and college, if not he would be stuck in the first grade!
He was never elected either time. He LOST the popular vote TWICE! |

Bush was fixated on Saddam and didn't want to acknowledge any awareness that al qaeda might be a first priority problem. And his attitude toward briefings has always been "the briefer the better." |

Richard Clarke is the person that the 911 comision asked him if he had been in charge could 911 been stopped and he said NO!
Mr. Clintion who told the congress that the military, CIA, and the FBI did NOT need the funding to track the terrorist out there because all that we needed to do was apease them!
You need to check your facts first before showing how ignorant you are! |

Al Qaeda was just tiring to finish what was started in the 90s with Dessert Storm. If Clinton would of had the balls he would of finished what was started and maybe things would of been different. |

Because our administration is a group of oil barons and their cronies. We say we are there to liberate Iraq, but other countries have genocide going on and we do nothing. If they would at least be honest and tell us it is about the oil, I could handle it. I just wish they would stop lying or giving half truths. |

Staff Sgt. C has expressed what I wanted to say so much better than I was going to. He is right on! I have heard his views expressed in various ways by many intelligent people who are "in the know". People I personally know and whose opinions I value. I guess Sgt. C will have to be included on the list of people whose opinion is worth listening to. Clinton should have had a sit-down with Sgt. C, then maybe he wouldn't have made such a mess of this country that Bush is now having to clean up! |

Well Bush didn't know what thse big words were....or Bush had already made up what passes for his mind to invade Iraq anyways so what did it matter to him? 9/11 allowed him the opening to do his own brand of cowboy diplomacy...or the pretzel cut off oxygen to that part of his brain...I could go on, but talking about Bush sort of makes me feel sick. |
