Erudite, I always admire your courage and stamina, but don't stereotype all Republicans.
Many encourage their children to go to the various armed forces, at least, from what I have seen among individuals.
I would hate for my own people to be stereotyped this way (as we often are).
I think the real issue is POLITICIANS. I don't see many of their children serving from any political party.
Let's be real here...most people protect their own. It is a sad fact. People would ask other people or other people's children to do what they would not. And it is everyone..I can give an example from any political party or group of people.
If you feel this strongly, write this person and tell him that he should be willing to allow his children to fight too. |

But Kerry saying that if you are un-educated you get sent to Iraq didn't bother you a bit, did it? |

Please tell me what Republican said that |

1. I doubt anyone said that, at least not out loud.
2. Are you sure he wasn't a Democrat? |

Hey that's ONE republican! Are you going to base the whole party on this one idiot's statement? Should we do the same for stupid statement by the dems? |

There's no draft. The people in the army choose to be there. He feels like there are better, less risky alternatives for his kids.
That's common sense. |

people CHOOSE to be there..and MOST parents are proud of their kids in the military |

Yeah, sure. Like this ever happened except in some delusional fantasy you were having. |

Don't you have your parties mixed up? |

Since you are anti-Republican, nothing we say should shock you, we are your sworn enemies, n'est pas?
And since you failed to point out who said this, your argument is pretty sad, much like your opinion, but you are entitled to it.
It is just sad, a friend of mine started counting all the stupid people he saw when he was about 8 years old. He stopped counting at 5,000, and sadly there is no way to convince a stupid person to change their mind, so why bother trying?
I'm sorry, alleged mind that is. |

Who? Waht proud republican? Did you get that off of a demo-blog? |

That is merely a selfish person that happened to be a republican. If stereotyping is fair game: I know this liberal that wants the government to control all the wealth in this nation. He is a communist. That is a true Liberal! |

Well, that pretty much describes their attitude in a nut shell. I'm surprised he would admit it. |

Are you kidding? Tell me what Democrat said " I only represent people who are white and could care less about anyone else". I'll give you a clue, it was the brother of the man who you quoted. Their names are No One and Nobody. When will the ignorant stop making up "facts" to support their arguments. There is plenty of ammunition out there for both sides to make their arguments. It takes a truly lazy or ignorant person to not see and take advantage of the information out there to make their points. Your post is just more Republican bashing with out any substantiation. Truly pathetic. Try listing names and documentation so we all can see that you truly have no clue. |

I do not believe you. Also, what Republican? FYI, if this is true why are so many of our fine military men and women Republican? And Conservative Democrat? |

This raises a good point: one of the reasons the war isn't even less popular is that the military is all volunteer; they wanted to go and fight. So those who didn't want to fight don't have to (we just have to pay for it).
However as the cost in lives and treasure mounts with no measurable successes, even those on the sidelines have grown weary. |
|

What, what, what??

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! But, Valley has a point. |

That is not a true republican thats nonsense, but if this person is a republican and said that this republican would knock his teeth out. |

I consider myself a Republican and I do not support the war in IRAQ, I support the troops though. It's not nice to generalize like that.
I am also shocked by this statement though, I say we send this guy to IRAQ and see if he still supports the war. |
|

Westhill

He was being honest. Many people would quit supporting the war if there was draft. |
