A friend of my brother-in-law is a Marine that was in Iraq while the war was still officially going on. When that question was asked recently when we were hanging out, he said "because the army found him". |

The Iraqi Government and the Iraqi people did not do 9-11. So why kill Saddam. Want to see real danger? Look to North Korea. |

theres on old saying 'THE LAW MUST BE 'SEEN' TO DONE', its true here. as long as we uphold some lawfullness, we are above the rest. |

Because it will be the easiest way for Sadam to get away with his crime.... to undergo Judicial process is just fair for him.. so that he'll know his crimes and know it is his people that will kill him
But if I were that soldier... I sure have fragged him down.... |

If he did then the US is would have the same definition that you stated. Gee a couple dozen countries chasing a third world leader in a country the size of Calif. did not find him. and yet still there is not a stable government over there. the weapons he used on the Kurds were bought from the united states? And as bad as he was how much gas were you paying at the pump? oh yeah you think Saddam would like Iran his worst enemy to want to succeed in getting bigger weapons? nope. Besides the Kurds had machine guns and ran operations even to kill Saddam. Sounds like an internal problem. |

Because we're the good guys and are supposed to play by the rules. Especially with jounalists and lawyers sticking their noses in all over the place. Also, it's much better from the propaganda perspective to have other Muslims execute justice than to have an American do it. |

Makes you wonder, huh?
Do you think he is suffering remorse about it now? |

They were under orders to take him alive if possible. Simple as that. I agree it would have saved a lot of trouble and lives if they had just put one between his eyes tho. Finished it there and then |

this is a very interesting debate may of been political
in the second world war if Hitler was killed there where more evil ones that could of taken his place
if Jerry Adams was killed there would of been no one to talk peace to
or may be you don't shoot someone who is cowering in a whole
but the main reason was they dint recognise him when they found him
ummmmmmmm |

Honestly i am so dissapointed with this world and its people that think they can decide who lives and who dies. Live this to the God, he is more than capable to decide! |

Easier said than done it would have caused outrage amongst saddams loyal supporters and to be honest there should not have been a second Iraq war.
the do gooders stopped the forces 12 miles from Bagdad on the first war ive already said WHY. we will end up going again!!!!!
and low and behold i was right.
we should have finished him when we had a chance.
and the same with Mugabe .
we all moan about these murdering heads of states but nobody wants to take responsibility for them.
they should the first time they kill their own people be dealt with swiftly.
The UN really has no teeth WHAT WE NEED IS A WORLD WIDE QUICK REACTION FORCE TO DEAL WITH THE LIKES OF SADDAM AND OSAMA. |

That would have been too good a death for him - he needs to understand that the sentence he is handed out will be from his own people - though I doubt whether he will be executed.
The man is clearly mad now, and has been for many, many years. |

I bet Bush & his gang were furious that Saddam wasn't shot there & then. |

Oh of course, because cold-blooded murder and lying are A-OK as long as it's a Republican doing it, right? |

Typical Gung Ho American question!!!.
Just for the record, can you tell me what his crimes were?. Don't get me wrong i am not a follower of his, but i do know that the world nor Iraq is a better place without him in power. And i have heard this a lot from people that were in Iraq with me. Including Americans. |

Because there is a system, and while it would of been a helluva lot easier to cap him right there, then we would lower our selves to their standards, we are better than that, but if it was up to me i would nail his balls to the floor, set the room on fire and give him a knife, then we could all watch him castrate himself.
The reason we do this is because we are a civilized country in a semi civilized world. We are fair and just even when we know that Saddam is guilty like the sky is blue.
That's the image that we want the world to see us as, not blood thirsty murders.
I look fore ward to seeing him die, but in a way that is justified. |
