Why do chaplains call spouses?

Please answer. Icant find anything about it on the internet.

maryasia, what part of the question DONT you understand? Is english your second language?

I moved out of the state of the base so there isnt anyone close to the unit who would call the chaplain to say im not ok to prompt a call.

Do chaplains call if my husband got wounded? or does that warrant a knock on my door as well.

Maybe someone thinks you are not doing well while your husband is gone and they are calling to check on you.

They could be calling for any number of reasons, don't assume the worst.

If you are assuming the worst. rest easy. they do not call you to tell you someone has passed. Could be something simple as an Injury or he could be calling just to check up on you to see how you are. Don't make assumptions. you know what happens when you assume? relax everything will be fine.

Military chaplains are ordained in their faith as ministers, priests, rabbi's or Imam's before they enter the Military. As men and women of the cloth, they are specially trained inside and outside the military in dealing with such matters. Chaplains provide comfort to the loved ones, and have quite a bit of power with the Military. They can assist the family with seeing a wounded service person, who may be in a hospital overseas. They can also assist the family with paperwork, funeral arrangements and such.

They provide great comfort to families.

Not enough info. Chaplains call for what? If your spouse is dead they have to do it in person. so what exactly are you asking?
