Because they have no choice..They use whatever weapon they can get their hands on...The weapons which are mass produced are gonna be found more often...They are third world fighters..they dont have much choice in what they use...Have you ever wondered why you dont see an insurgent in a Humvee? Its because they prefer Toyotas or bicycles.

Its a good rifle. It is cheap, reliable, and so long as its a decently made one, what is not baffed out from over use, accurate enough for the urban enviroment. It has a resonable cartidge. The ammo is freely avilable.

The range and precision of a dedicated sniper rifle isn't necessary in a battlefield where your targets are usually less than a couple of hundred meters away, and the build of such a rifle may be a detriment of sorts. |

Who the hell wants a mac 10 or a shotgun in a real war? Having said that, shotguns can be very useful in thick jungle and similar places where the range is measured in feet not yards. Use your head for pete's sake, and forget the funnies. |
