Why do people care about torturing terrorrists?

Because people are idiots and really don't know the meaning of torture. Waterboarding is not torture. Try having bamboo shoved up your *ss and electrical shocks on your nipples or being beat to a pulp until you are choking on your own blood. That's how American soldiers have been tortured in the past - if they even live that long. Jihadist's simply dragged our soldiers through the streets of cities while citizens beat them with clubs until they were dead. Now THAT's torture.

Why don't people ever worry about the people terrorists have killed?
No one had time to argue or debate what those poor DEAD people deserved.They were killed as they innocently went about their lives. They never got a chance to beg for their lives.
We have to stop terrorists from killing people, not worry about terrorists "rights."

They don't care if an unborn baby is ripped into pieces, so its because of their hatered of Bush. If Obama did the same to terrorist then they would take a different view. Gitmo is still open and the war on terrorism is still waging, but its Obama and not Bush, so it is acceptable.

Some people don't care what they do, they just care about what we do in retaliation. Personally, I think we should do whatever we have to in order to prevent another 9/11. However, others think that if we are nice and drink tea with them then they won't hate us anymore.

Well the thing is, you can't really call them terrorists if they haven't been found guilty of terrorism. America has laws of due process. Everyone gets a fail trial, no matter how bad their crime was. It's in the constitution. I find it strange that we torture them for crimes against America, but torturing them and not giving them a trial is pretty un-American.

It's funny that republicans are supposed to be constitutionalists... right?

They deserved it? What in the United States Constitution lists who deserves to be tortured and who doesn't? Isn't there a clause in there about "cruel and unusual punishment". How about "innocent until proven guilty" since none of these ALLEGED terrorists have actually been convicted of anything. A huge number of them have in fact been released with no charges filed of any kind. What does that do to America's standing worldwide, to our claim of moral authority?

If you start talking about who deserves rights and who doesn't then where do you draw the line. Again, remember here we are talking about suspected terrorists or, more often than not people who MIGHT have knowledge of suspected terrorists but are not suspected terrorists themselves. What makes them so special? How about suspected drunk drivers? Should they be secretly aprehended, held without trial or even formal trial and brutalized on a hunch? What if your neighbor gets pissed because you cut down his hedge and he tells the FBI he overheard you making terrorist threats? How would you feel about who deserves and who doesn't deserve rights?
