If you see the soldiers on the news the flag on their left soldier is backwards. There must be a reason for this.

This flag is symbolic of the men who used to march into battle with an actual flag. So steady and strong that the flag would blow behind them. On the arms of our soldiers, the flag faces as if being carried into battle, blowing behind them. |

Man, someone asks this like every month. Listen, the Flag isn't backward. We wear it with the Blue field moving forward as if we were 'charging'. Think Civil War. When the American Flag is mounted, it is mounted on the blue side and flies that way.
Army Regulation 670-1, “Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia,” updated most recently September 5, 2003, addresses explicitly the proper and lawful placement of the U.S. flag patch on the Army uniform.
The regulation states that when authorized for application to the proper uniform the American flag patch is to be worn, right or left shoulder, so that “the star field faces forward, or to the flag’s own right. When worn in this manner, the flag is facing to the observer’s right, and gives the effect of the flag flying in the breeze as the wearer moves forward. The appropriate replica for the right shoulder sleeve is identified as the ‘reverse side flag’.”
And some organizations, such as the Boy Scouts fly their's the opposite 'normal' way. |

Because when you run with the flag the blue is in the front... This is why the us troops where a reversed flag. If it were the other way it would make our troops look weak thats what ive heard. |

not sure the exact actual answer for this but ive heard from soldiers that it's because when they look down they see it the correct way for themselves. but im not totally sure. you can google it. |
