Why do some people think that we should just take out the pirates and blow them away? How so with the hostage?

that'll kill the hostage......which is the main focus here. If the pirates sense any attacks thats about to come they'll kill themselves....i don't know what else is going to happen OTHER than paying the ransom because the pirates frankly don't give a damn about their lives. they'll kill the captain if they sense danger.

and the KEY here is to get the captain back alive....but how?

Paying ransoms just breeds more pirates.

The problem is that the pirates are in a win win situation as it now stands. If they get paid the ransom they are better off, but if they are caught they are jailed ina country whose jails are a better life than they are now living.

They need to face the death penalty if they are not killed during the hijacking then it is loose loose

ADDITION: nope dont need to put the captian in harms way at all. we had thermal imaging scopes and mounted on a 50 cal barrett with a trained USMC Scout Sniper the thickness of the walls of the boat would neither hinder the scope nor the round from penetrating. timed shots from multiple Snipers and its over. we practiced this scenerio all the time and believe me you can time the roll of the boat and you dont have to hit directly center mass when you are throwing that much lead down range.

The only problem is that we have a prez in office who doesnt have the balls to give the go order on the killing of these terrorist that would play out on the news. he is too worried about his/america's image in other countries than he is about saving the life of an american. he doesnt want any bad press.

this captian surrendered himself to the pirates to give safety to his crew, he knows the meaning of risk and if he had a say he would green light the order. hell he had to risk his life trying to save himself already because obama is sitting on his hand waiting for his team to get the latest poll on what germany and france want us to do in this situation. he is another jimmy carter when it comes to rescuing american hostages

I agree we need to get the captain back, but not through negotiation or payment of ransom. These men need to be killed.

You are right. But the Pirates have no chance to get out. I would have given them 10 Million already and a fast boat, get the captain back and then watch, as the boat would blow up with a bomb. The 10 Million could be Monopoly money, they don't know a dollar from a duck. This guys are uneducated clowns and our military shouldn't have hesitated for more then 1 second.
I truly don't get it.
