I am American, and I can tell you that at least among people I know, we are very grateful that GB is helping us in the current war. By showing up to help when no one else would, you have set a great example to the rest of the world and shown yourselves to be a true ally. I for one thank you and your country. |

We are dealing with the dumbest and second fastest nation on Earth here. American's take pride in everything we do and claim it as theirs. |

I was born in 1941 here in London. I can testify to the fact that the American GI's came down the gangplanks of their troops ships at Liverpool Docks around January 1942. Their plan was to march right on over to France and punch Adolf on the nose, real hard, like they meant it.
Britain stood alone from 1940-1942.
From the time of their arrival in UK the Americans made it possible for we and they to go together with our allies into France [Normandy] in 1944.
There were hundreds of thousand of Americans stationed here during the war and if it were not for them, then we would have been fighting that blessed war until about 1950.
There is no doubt that we would have got on top of the Nazis in the end, it's just a matter of time really. By 1943 about 75% of all U-Boats and their crews had been destroyed - things were looking up.
Those people who do not understand or believe the massive effort made by the USA in helping defeat Nazi Germany should just think of it like this.
In 1942 when Adolf Hitler and his gang of murdering Nazis declared war on the USA, the American factories when flat out into war production.
American industrial might produced more tanks in a single month in 1942 than the Nazis were able to produce in a whole year.
The fastest ever built Liberty ship took 30 days. If it were not for these ships, we might have starved to death here in UK.
While the WW2 diet here in UK was adequate - you did not starve to death [yet anyway], it was dull and boring. You try living for 15 years without ever seeing a bag of chips. Because this was how it was for millions of people here in UK during WW2.
The Americans sent ship loads of SPAM to UK. Winston Churchill with very much tongue in cheek, declared, "SPAM is a non-meat product and therefore will not be subject to rationing." There was an immediate Black Market in SPAM.
Never saw a can of the damn stuff until after the war was over myself and then it was SPAM with SPAM plus SPAM chips and SPAM SPAM SPAM!! |

What the ****, both the question and these answers are pure offensive, what the **** would you know.
We went and sorted out a problem that was long overdue. In the first gulf the Americans were in taters. We saved old Isreal from the scuds. Fair enough since we caused the whole problem in the first palce along with the old zionists.
In the second 7th armourd took Basrah. Its our job to protect it. Al Amarah is now fully under Iraqi controll and Basrah only has a couple of thousand troops. I wasn't there on the invasion but alot of my pals were.
As for the Blue on Blue america has a shocking reputation that it's thouroghly embarresed about. Possibly the worst in the world.
But hey, we invented concentration camps and caused 99% of the worlds problems. Were all ****** up. Deal with it. |

I don't believe they do. But hey, your point about them killing more Brits than the Iraqis managed is true for the initial phase of the war, whatever protestations our American chums make to the contrary.
And Beardog, if that's the best a real man can do, best you scuttle of back to your grade school and learn your lessons a little more clearly. You're clearly thinking with los cojones and nothing above the waistline. Arrogance is not going to make you any friends around her. |

Americans will always be Americans ...... Emperors with the invisible cloaks. Their sense of grandeur will not allow them to accept that the real fighters in Iraq are the ever professional, ever reliable and well-trained British troops. |

You know that would be like the US telling you to get over WWII but to this day some of still hold us to all of that and yet we still have no problems helping you.
Though there is something you need to know what happen on 9/11 is not something to joke around about because that would be like us telling you to get over the teariest attack that happened over there over there in England. Though you may not stop to think that we lost allot of loved ones that day and yes it has been six years since that day but how long do you think it would take you to get over something like that . May-be you need to stop and think about that for a little bit before you go saying things you don't know the whole story too. |

First of all i would hardly call 9/11 a stupid arguement when the whole world saw ther death and destruction caused by extreme fundementalists, secondly a point to Thud.fan at no pint in WW1 which the british and Empire forces fought was there any danger of the uk been invaded, and in WW II the RAF held back the luftwaffe in the battle of britain which meant the germans never had air supiorority to mount a cross channel invasion which if you read back in to mein kampf was never an actual intension of Hitler, so that statement isnt true, America joine WWII after pearl harbour as a combatant although the supplies sent to the ukl before that enabled us to keep fighting, but to get back to the catual question i think its a pointless and incorrect one anyway the usa and the uk have been allies for years and hope they continue to for the rest of my life at least i just wish they would tone down a bit at times |

our squaddies are professional soldiers, THE best in teh world... they yanks are conscripts, and consequently useless...
and everything america ever did was "the best" they fail to mention when questioned that they stole most of their technology from good old England... and even though they have it, they havent got a clue how to use it...
to date in the latest oil fiasco more or OUR squaddies have died to "friendly fire" than to terrorist guns... our dead number 300, the yanks over 3 thousand... what does that say? land of the brave home of the free, soon to be dead, just you wait and see...
according tothe yanks, there was NO history prior to them making it all...
and we forget why we expelled them 250 years ago as a bunch of religious fundamentalists and zealots...
sorry world, we should have just executed them... look at the trouble we;d have saved ourselves over the years. |

why not? we fought for a conman cause we helped them they helped us |

the UK forces should leave the yanks to conquer the world on their own and when they come unstuck we will take the north american continent back were it belongs, in the british hands or failing that back to the real owners the indian nations |

We think that because we have strayed from our law of only fighting wars that threaten our freedom. We now feel we need to police the world and change the world through military might. If I could have my way, we would elect Dr. Ron Paul president and he would cancel all of our alliances and protect our own. The United States is still one of the greatest experiments in government and we will right our ship. |

Why don't the British just stay out of the way and leave the fighting to real men? |
