They have to have something to complain about and the biggest thing right now to complain about is the war. Yes we go months and sometimes over a year without seeing our husbands but we knew we were getting into that when we married them if they were already in and we knew when they joined what could happen. It's the price we pay for our freedom. I support the war because of the difference that my husband tells me they are making. You learn not to listen to the news because they don't tell you everything all you hear is the bad news.
But to the people who don't support the troops..... who do you think gave you the freedom to open your big fat mouths and say what ever you want to say. |

Because it IS the reality no one wants to face and when thibking about war no one or at least mos of us think of it as nameless and faceless people getting shot, like a movie... plus even though they are on our side it doesn't change the fact that they ARE part of the war and no one wants to be a part of it, no one likes war... I'm sorry to tell you this but unless you have someone that takes part (like if someone you know joined the military) no one will care.
Plus very few people think of the country as being in threat of soemthing... |

You have two different questions going on here.
One, the Bush administration has made it part of their official policy to downplay the war. This is the only time in US history we had war and taxes were lowered to boost the economy instead of paying for the conflict. The news media has been warned not to contact families of deceased soldiers and they can not cover the wars in Iraq or Afghanistan without government permission (also a fist in US history). The American public has been asked to spend money and not think about the war. There is no collective pain, everything has been dumped on the shoulders of those who are fighting.
Two, people are against the war in Iraq because it is a stupid and bad managed war and it has no connection to 9-11. Please let me repeat that, there is no connection between 9-11 and Iraq. |

considering most of the high jackers were of saudi origin it doesnt seem right to attack nation states that had very little to do with the organisation of the 9/11 plots. Surely war should have been waged with the saudi's, but then that would have put economic interests in danger. However, since economic ties with iraq were at an all time low, and with all that oil that was there surely it was good idea to attack them. America likes to talk about the spread of democracy of freedom but does little to free the people of zimbabwee and north korea as just two examples in which the US has done nothing for. As for the soldiers 'that are dying for them', exactly, soldiers are dying in a stupid war supported by stupid people like yourself who believe everything they are told by a right wing neo conservatist, evangelist twt. |

Didn't we already take care of the guys that were supposedly behind that little hijink? And, so fare, haven't more people died in this war than we had lost in the first place? Gas priced are still high. Everything else is going up in price. I'm not any happier than I was before the war. I fail to see how these people are fighting for me. Maybe they just think they are. It's just another Vietnam. |

People who appreciate the troops want them home. Loving their families raising their children. Going to school, going to a job that is of a service to other americans & the world, working to build contructive things. Being safe, Being healthy, fighting never brings peace. What we put our energy into only gets bigger. When someone dies as they did in 911 it is a normal stage of grief to get angry, healthy people don't stay in that anger or act out in rage. They learn to forgive. The forgive God & can see that their loved one is Ok & they can be Ok too by making something positive out of their loved ones death. They don't go out & kill other people. What good would it do if every time someone died the family went after the family of the person who caused the death. They had nothing to do with it & they suffer enough from guilt that sometimes they shouldn't even be responsible. for anyway. 911 was a spiritual opportunity for us to take the high road, admit our mistakes in the past & forgive ourselves. Appreciate the message & love people more than ever. War only brings problems. Someone like you has no idea as to what I mean cause you don't allow youself to think on spiritual ideas of love & forgiveness & clarity & peace. You want to send out hate & murder & then blame everyone cause it is or isn't making things different. |

People want to live thier lives in a protected and safe envirnment. Dont really care much more than thier little circle of influence and cares.
I wish we didnt have to fight in wars. I think we shouldnt be in war. I disagree with the reasons we went to war. We got lied to. The plans for the war missed out on planning for the peace afterwards. Since we are in there, I support the troops but not all of the war. Keeping extremists running isnt quite a bad thing..sending a few to Allah for him to judge, I support that. The justification for this war was shaky at best. It may be that there will be unintended positive consequences from this. One can only hope as I dont want the sacrifices to go to naught.
BTW 9-11 was not an Iraqi thing, mostly Saudi extremists..

In my opinion, immediately after the attacks on 911 there was alot more support for the military because the attacks were still fresh in our minds. Now because the battle is not directly on our soil affecting our own backyards some people think the threat is over for now and we can relax.
I think wars are kind of like a wasps nest..It may be in your neighbors yard but it can still affect you. If your neighbor asks your help in getting rid of the wasps you can work together to do so or you can say" that's not my problem " and run the risk of getting stung and of even having the
wasps build a nest in your own back yard. And there may even be times that your neighbor refuses to get rid of the wasps and you are tired of getting stung so you call the professionals to take care of it. |

It is because the STUPID media always talks about the negative tolls, roadside , and other crap like that. They never talk about how great our armed forces are doing and how much progress they're making. In the past six months has decreased by 60% in iraq due to the troop surge and iraqi cease fire, but does the news ever talk about that NOOOOO! Because that would be a positive thing. And that would mean the war would have a positive effect which would make bush and the soldiers look good and that would be bad. If the media would have a better outlook on the war the public would respect our soldiers more.

Number one, they are ungrateful. Number two, they just don't realize that if it weren't for any soldiers we would be speaking something other than English. They take for granted that we will always be the society and country we are forever and don't accept the fact that it took military might, blood and sacrifice from all sides to get us where we are today. I understand military families missing their loved ones. My son is in Iraq and I am proud as hell that he is making history as we speak. They chose the military for whatever reason and they are doing their jobs whether they agree with it or not. Soldiers miss thier families too but they have to consentrate on the task at hand so they can do their jobs safely and come home in one piece!! The next time you see a soldier, shake their hand and thank them. I'm on post all the time and I do it all the time. Believe me, it is appreciated. God bless the military and God belss the 3rd Infantry division. Rock of the Marne!!! |

Because the American media is very anti American soldier. All the mainstream media ever shows is the stories that put the American soldier in a bad light. No one knows the truth unless you are in the military or closely affiliated with it. The truth is that we are the GOOD guys and we are fighting an ideological war with the BAD guys. We should all be eternally grateful to the military guys and girls that are out there taking the fight to them so that we can live our comfortable lives. The mainstream media and the liberal elites need to wake up and start thanking the US military instead of disrespecting them. |
