Why does the air force have better living conditions than the army? shouldn't the army have better....?

I am not downing the air force, I want to join the air force but why does the air force have better living conditions when the army has longer deployments and is more in the "fighting zone"? Just wondering.

That's a generalization that's not always true.

The barracks at Fort Campbell are better than any dorm i ever lived in while in the Air Force.

Deployments - deployments are shaped by the mission. The Air Force has shorter deployments, simply because the aircraft cannot handle longer deployments, they need to come back to the States for major maintenance.

Most aircraft in peace time require around 8 hours of maintenance for every flight, in a war zone, that maintenabce requirement quickly starts going up, since the aircraft fly more often and are abused more by the flight crew.

Where deployed - since the Air Force is mainly deployed to provide maintenance on aircraft, just how could they be deployed to an FOB ? They have to be deployed to a runawy and suport structure capable of providing the maintenance needs of the aircraft.

Naturally, a field combat force isn't going to have nice places to live because they are, well, in the field, in combat.

The Air Force generally operates out of large bases (because you need that for runways), and devotes a lot of money and effort into quality of life for their airmen. It's one of their emphasis points. Generally, for deployments, they go to nicer places than a lot Navy, Army and Marine units deploy from. That is, when they aren't working out of home base.

Quality of Life (QOL) is just one of the things the Air Force pushes really hard. I think it goes back to a pilot mentality and the need for crew rest/down time for maintenance of aircraft, etc. Just a guess for the reasons.

By the way, the places the Army lives at in the field are WAY nicer than the places the Marines live in. The marines will take an abandoned building and send forces to operate out of there. The Army needs a base before they will even go there.

Not having an Obasm
Several reasons.

In general, the Air Force spends more on the living accommodations than the Army does, at least as a percentage. The Army has more combat systems, so by necessity that percentage will decrease.

Also, the Air Force tends to operate out of larger, fixed locations. With that as a backdrop, they can afford to upgrade their accommodations because it is a virtual guarantee that they will remain in the same location so the investment will not go to waste, so to speak, when those there are deployed elsewhere.
