Nice use of false logic there. Just because Osama and most of his supporters are from Saudi Arabia does not make the country responsible. Saudi Arabia does not support or train any of these fanatics. In fact, Saudi Arabia does a better job of tracking down terrorists inside their own country than most others do.
Yes, Saudi Arabia is a leading member of OPEC, so what. They also support and try to promote peace in their region and have been involved in communicating with other nations in the region to try and reduce and eliminate the support for terrorist organizations by ME nations like Iran and Syria.

Do you have any understanding of Islam at all? Are you aware that the holiest cities in Islam are in Saudi Arabia? What do you think would happen if we invaded? The entire Middle-East would band together to fight us. Oil would stop flowing. The world's economies would tank. You think terrorism is bad now? Saudi Arabia is a US ally. It is bad form to attack an ally. What Arab nation would ever trust us again if we backstabbed the only ally we have in the region? Yes, the majority of the 9/11 conspirators were Saudis, but they didn't represent the Saudi government and weren't supported by them. The Saudis didn't harbor them and refuse to turn them over.

Invading Saudi Arabia because the conspirators were Saudis is like arresting everybody in a certain town because a bank robber came from there.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. The terrorist threat will never be eliminated by conventional warfare, because terrorists aren't loyal to any one nation. They have their own agenda and their own leaders, and they'll just scuttle away like rats and set up camp somewhere else as soon as the country is invaded.

Your ignorance of current world affairs is appalling, and most likely deliberate. Osama, and Al Qaeda, are self-professed ENEMIES of Saudi Arabia. It is a stated goal of theirs to overthrow the kingdom, and they have conducted many attacks against Saudis, in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government has been ruthless in tracking down, prosecuting, and killing any affilitated with Bin Laden or Al Qaeda; they've even had to step up security at the Haj in Mecca because the likelihood that some extremist would try to attack the thousands of Muslim pilgrims there. Syria, Iran, and Iraq before the invasion have all been far greater "state sponsors" of terrorism than Saudi Arabia. The reason so many of the 9-11 hijackers, and many of the foreign insurgents in Iraq now, are Saudi is because Bin Laden himself is Saudi and all of them prescribe to a radical wing of Sunni Islam known as Wahhabism. Not all of the violence in Iraq is caused by them; either. Iran has a huge hand in the Shi'a-caused violence in Iraq, and it's not even much of a secret any longer. It is not, however, a secret that Iran and Saudi Arabia absolutely loathe each other.

Try to learn a little bit about what's actually going ON in the world before making ridiculous claims. It only makes you look comical to those that bother to stay informed and away from American political bandwagons only interested in their own petty domestic goals.

Also--we get very, very little oil from the Middle East, and none from Iraq. Most of the oil the United States uses comes from (surprise!) the United States, as well as more local sources within the Western Hemisphere, such as Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America. In contrast, the biggest customers of Middle East oil are (surprise) those in closer proximity to the Middle East. Makes sense, right? That would be Europe, Russia, China, India, places in Africa, and the Middle East itself. So before you make yet another comical claim that "it's all about OIL!!", check your facts. A second-grader can easily look up import-export statistics in any world atlas, encyclopedia, or website... so why can't you?

EDIT: Ignoring what veterans and other people who have actually BEEN to that part of the world have to say, much less thumbing them down, speaks for itself far better than your partisan rant. Notice that at least I didn't use the words "lib" or "neocon" anywhere in my answer. Or are you that threatened by an opposing answer?

The reasons we don not attack the Saudis are primarily oil and military bases in the region. We can't always have all our troops out to sea in the middle east area, and with Saudi Arabi we are able to put troops ashore and keep them ashore.

We aren't attacking Iran, or Iraq. In Iraq we are fighting against "revolutionaries." (Terrorists). With Iran we are attempting to keep them from aquiring nuclear biological and chemical (NBC) weapons.

I personally don't know about Syria for sure, but I don't think we are attacking Syria.

The Saudi government is our friend. But their people do not particularly like us. It is the opposite with Iraq and Iran. Their governments (former government for Iraq) hate us, but their people want our help.

The Saudis (our dear friends) would cut off our oil.

Interesting to note that after the chaos of 9-11, only one commercial airplane was allowed take off. The one carrying part of the Saudi family back to their home.

Also interesting to note that our dear friends the Saudis DOUBLED the price of oil to America on Dec 8 1941, the day after the pearl harbor attack.

Technically Saudi is our ally. While Bin Laden and the other hijackers were of Saudi origin, the government of Saudi did not sanction the attacks on 9/11. In my opinion, however, I think Saudi should be turned to glass along with the rest of the Middle East.
