Why don't more Liberals enter military service?

The military life is the life they actually want. We have socialized health care. We have standardized pay. Everybody gets a home. Everybody gets clothes. Everybody gets food. Education is standardized. The military world is the most PC on our entire planet.

Military life is the closest they are ever going to get to their picture perfect socialist dream. So why don't they all enter military service?

And remember, I clearly stated 'more'. I know that many do serve. The question is "Why don't more Liberals enter military service?"

Your analogy about the military is like socialism is partly true. That's why I got out...I couldn't stand it. The big fallacy in your argument it that in the military if you slack off and not pull your own weight, you get kicked out. In a socialist society, what happens when you don't pull your own weight? Nothing...you still get the government pay check. You don't just get kicked out of society. That's why the military works and Socialism doesn't.

BTW, most of the military did not vote for Obama. Whoever told you that is using very unsupported data or just pulling it out of their a**. An overwhelming majority of military officers are Republican (I think I only met three in my entire career who were Democrats). The enlisted ranks are still a majority Republican but it's closer to 60-35 (with 5 % being "other"). I don't have exact figures...those are approximations.

I don't understand the question or the answer. I knew many liberals, myslef included, and for shooting my mouth off, I was a SNCO never remember doing that.
And what makes you assume that all liberals think socialism is picture perfect? Can you give me concrete examples, or are you just parroting?

It's a myth that the military is only made up of "conservative" mainly republicans. You do know that 1/3rd of the democratic party is conservative right?

Also, the majority of active duty military personnel voted for Obama. So what does that mean?

It's pretty simple. Republicans and so called conservatives tend to be loud, like you're doing now. This is probably why you think the military is mostly conservative because only conservatives tend to be throwing their political affiliations in your face every 20 seconds and always focused on politics.

I did--and I know lots of libs that were in and are still in --its just that the righties in uniform (esp the officers and SNCOs shoot their mouths off more than we do)

Many do! There is nothing like a good dose of Combat to take the Lib out of the Liberal, or it does many of them. The others don't because they can't set back and watch the View, drink their Latte's, and talk about what a great guy Perez Hilton is!

to sad sad man, the majority of the military voted for mccain. most of the soldiers i know didn't agree with obama because of the military cuts he proposed.

Just because you are liberal doesn't mean you can't pull your own weight or believe in socialism. But most liberals are more on the peace not war side so that's why they don't join. But i know plenty of liberal people in the military. Why does it even matter?
