Why don't we just pay the pirate ransom?

… and when we have our captain back safely, destroy the virus pirate fleet. In fact, why not print up bogus American dollars, pay off all the pirates to get all hostages back, and then turn them into fish bait??? A simple solution.

Send in the SEALS or a Delta squad. Hell, Id settle for an SAS team. Britain would kick the **** out of the pirates becuase they have balls. (Iranian Embassy Siege in 1980. They didnt wait for the terroritsts to come out with thier hands up.) Bleeding heart asshats in Washington.

I wouldn't have a problem with using real money if the pirates won't be alive to spend it, there is no point risking American lives for what amounts to pocket change for the American government. But other than that, I agree with you.

As for the first poster, do you not understand the difference between a terrorist and a pirate? Seriously, what is wrong with our educational system here?

They payment doesn't go to the pirates on the boat. It goes to an account and a mediary, so the pirates could just take the money and keep the hostage until well after they are paid. The people in the boat work for someone on shore, he wont care if those four on the boat die anyway, so all you do is encourage the act.

I can see your point in the difference between a terrorist and a pirate, but I think the answer is the same.

We should not bow to threats. If we do this, everyone will think America is an easy target and it will happen more often, it's like giving in to the tantrums of a stroppy toddler, if you want to do this every single trip to the shops, then go ahead and buy the candy for them otherwise put your foot down and say no and mean it.

thats a coward act.obama is a MAN! he uses his smart and wise and mighty mind and together with other high ranking ministers strategise a cool and MAN way to take down the cowardise pirates who make use of hostages instead of a one on one fight
