Why dont the troops support themselves?

Sports bras and jock straps seem to support the best. Perhaps you could send some to the spo. That should help support the troops.

They aren't asking you to literally support the troops, because we already do that with our taxes. They are asking you to support them with prayers and not speak illy about them. I can guarantee you that those men and women don't want to be in that war any more than you or me.

The troops are special because they are getting shot at so people like you can get on yahoo and ask stupid questions. You support the troops because they represent the freedom and democracy that our country was built on and that humans across the globe should have. You suppoprt the troops because they didn't declare they war but they are fighting it. And by the way I do support my family and any one else that needs it.

You are an idiot, and you obviously don't have any loved ones over there fighting. Put your self in there shoes. How would you feel if no one supported and cared about you. You would be all alone.

Try being away from your family in another country,walking thru a foriegn neighborhood wondering if your coming home on your own or in a body bag. After a while you start wondering to yourself if anyone remembers you're out there. It's a great feeling to find out your family misses you or that someone supports you being there doing the job.
TRy joining the military and see if you give a hoot about anyone supporting YOU!

Its better to be quiet and be thought an idiot than to open your mouth... or in your case... type and him enter.... and remove all doubt.

I am a United States Army Paratrooper... I, like many before me and many who will come after me.... am willing to stand in harms way and do things that you would find unthinkable so you can sit at home with your family and enjoy the freedoms which I secure and guarantee.

While you have a very misguided preception of what support is ask of you.... you look for the tangible. What does it cost me?? What do they want from me?? When actually we want nothing more from you than a slight bit of courtesy, an occasional prayer and a kind thank you when you see me and my comrades at the airport.

We will never ask you for anything. We do what we do willingly. We chose a life of servitude and sacrifice so you can remain at home, spend time with your family, celebrate your birthday with friends and family and see all the spending and complaining about the holiday shopper that cut you off in the mall parking lot 3 days before Christmas. In 23 years I have spent 5 with my family. I may actually get to be home for a second Christmas in a row for a change.

But we walk a cold and dangerous line. One I doubt you could muster to stand on let alone serve amoungst. We support each other. We hold our fellow soldier while they are dying. We give first aid to our wounded. We console our own widows.

What makes us special?? You really don't even deserve an answer to that part of your question. It was a soldier who gave you freedom of speech... not a reporter. It was a soldier who gave you freedom of religion.... not a priest. It was a soldier who gave you the right to vote.... not a politician. I allow you and your family to sleep safely at night... and to have a decent job at a decent wage.... and to take everything that I have given you for granted. You have no idea what any of us soldiers would sacrifice so you can ask your "question".

It's having people like me around who are willing to doing mean, nasty and downright deplorable things that keeps you safe in your home at night. We are far from needy. We support you and you take it for granted and don't have a clue.

Yes, I am not a nice person.... and that you should be thankful for.
