I'm sure there are a lot of reasons why we haven't found Bin Laden yet, and I don't doubt that many of them have to do with money, because as we've seen, BushCo won't move on anything unless one of its corporate investors is being paid off. In other words, there hasn't been enough profit incentive to really get on the Bin Laden thing.

The war has cost trillions not billions, and most of it has gone to setting up the dept of homeland defense (didnt Hitler have a similar thing? funding Blackwater security and others, and its also gone to pay Cheneys mates in Halliburtons, KBR, and Unocal to name a few. So you may well ask what could Bush have gained by faking 9/11?

now that the economy is finally breaking with horrendous theft and scandals surfacing, being a contractor in Iraq is no longer honorable since the US uses no bid contracts and grossly over pays them and sends the profits to a few elites while the rest of us suffer and can't get a pay raise or tax break

Who is to say that the US wants him dead? Alive and in hiding is almost better. He has to be careful where he goes and be worried about someone wanting that 25 million. By not killing him and thwarting his moves we actually come out ahead in many ways. If we can make his moves fail it sends the message to others that even the great Sheik Bin Laden can not defeat the US and that is worth quite a lot, especially in the eyes of an Arab. AS for no bid contracts awarded to KBR I would love to know the name of any other company capable of doing the work they do. I worked in Iraq for KBR and believe me the troops are glad to have the support. Every job that is done by a civilian frees a soldier to fight.

I think Chris said it best. If he is still out there, his health is pretty bad. I am not sure that he is in command of anything. If he is dead we may never find the body as he could be anywhere. If we were to actually stumble across a body that we think is his, it would take DNA tests to verify. Either way, until he is proven dead we must act as if he were alive. That means hunt him to the ends of the earth.

Because he's hiding in areas with sympathetic populations and governments. On top of this, feckless liberals and idealist nonrealistic leaders are imposing undue restrictions on military operations in those areas. just like Vietnam, where politicians were ordering the air strikes and declaring safe-zones. We all saw how that turned out.

BTW Assuming he is alive, his efforts to coordinate international attacks must be quite limited. The US has shut down pretty much all modes of C3I (command, control, communication, intelligence), so Al Qaeda is probably using low-tech methods (ie messengers) along with very brief high tech ones (prepaid cell phones). I think this is why there has not been a major attack on US soil, OBL cannot coordinate his organization while always on the move hiding in caves.
