Why have more officers than soldiers died in Iraq?!?!?

There are more soldiers than officers, and more enlisted personnel die, not officers, because the enlisted personnel are on the front lines.

more enlisted personel than officers have died, look up the list of deaths most of them are e6 and below. it might have been a month where more officers died but thats just random chance. im sure you can find a month in history where more people died in a plane crash than people died in car accidents, but thats not the norm at all.

FYI, an officer is a soldier but I think you mean "why have more officers died compared to enlisted" . But you have your facts backwards. Many, many more enlisted members have died. Check out this site:

This is current as of today. The Americans have lost 4,280 miliitary members.

This is not unusual in any conflict.The officer leading his platoon is the most vulnerable.The chain of command is your Lt, etc.Eliminate the Officer in charge and his platoon is lost and demoralised.

Perhaps like the American Frontiersmen in the Revolutionary War they(the Iraqi's) have learned it was more efficient to kill officers than men. The Germans did the same in both World Wars to such an extent that many officers in the Allied Forces concealed their badges of rank and wore ordinary soldiers uniforms.

Because, as usual, the muppets running the war from the safety of their office desk fail to realise what type of war is being fought.

They still require, as per the Geneva Convention, that all troops wear insignia denoting their rank.

The terrorists, or whatever you want to call them, simply pick out who is wearing the rank insignia and pick them off.

officers are just idiots who can get in these positions because of there accent they talk with a plum in there mouth so to speak.if it was the more experienced normal solder with brains then they'd do a better job ! wrong people in the wrong positions ! that's what it is !

because in this conflict they seem to take the lead.
a lot of the soldiers are lacking in experience,may i add their not lacking in courage.
