they are too busy trying to destroy his uncle's administration. |

because they don't want to say anything good about a Bush |

I don't have his phone number, otherwise I'd give him a call and tell him that I'm proud.
At least someone in that family has balls and convictions. |

Because he is going against the will of the Democrats, and it shows that the military life isn't all that bad ( despite what liberals are tring to say ) if their biggest enemies ( George Bush ) nephew will put himself through the military. |

Liberals do not want anyone in the military |

Because they're hypocrites that wouldn't know what to do if common sense slapped them in the face. |

Because that wouldn't make bush look bad. |

First I heard of it. Good for him I guess. Too bad he went navy instead of Army. What intel slot requires a year of training? Most intel schools are 4 to 6 months. Maybe he is going to be a linguist or crptographer, that can take more than a year to learn. |

Politically Wrong

They have no plans of ever saying anything good to anyone, least of all a Bush..... |

why should they? They never congratulated me. |

Well, it certainly throws the caltrops down on the no sons and daughters serving, argument. |

Why should liberals congratulate the guy?
There is a contradiction in terms here, also...(Navy) Intelligence doesn't go with ANY of the Bush family members. I will never give this crime family any kudos, ever!! |

i didnt know. will he actually get sent to the middle east or will he be patroling cancun? |

Why do you expect others to do things for you all the time?
So why aren't you congratulating him then? Why do you expect the liberals to do it for you? |

So he can fight the Iraqi Navy or the Afghan Navy
That's pretty close to fighting the VC in Alabama |

How about the Army or the Marines? I mean, I am not knocking navy folks, I actually find them the most intelligent and interesting out of all the military branches, (and they don't chant DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR which gives me the creeps) BUT my point is, he would be making more of a "politicized" statement of his national sacrifice had he chosen one of the other two...try again. |

Yeah, the intelligence school and being in the Navy Reserve will really expose him to the front-line horrors of war, eh? It's fine he's doing it and all, but let's not make it look like some big dangerous sacrifice.
EDIT
Yak Rider,
I don't "know" where he'll be stationed IF he does any active duty. However, except for corpsmen assigned to USMC units, Naval Aviators, and Navy Seals, there are very few Navy personnel (some support/liaison personnel, for example) who would be in harm's way under current conditions. Intelligence officers on active duty by and large serve at large shore installations and some large ships such as carriers and fleet command ships. |

Going into the navy?
Does that mean he is going to Iraq? Not on your life! |

Is there really a reason that they should be congratulating him? It was Jeb's son decision to join the war effort and almost every American Congressman/women will say that they support the troops anyways... The only reason the Dems were jumping all over Bush was because HE was accused of avoiding combat, not his son, so there is really no legitimate reason for Jeb to get a congratulation for his son's service; its not "transitive", in that sense.
Also, why should only Politicians receive complements about their son's and daughter's involvement in the war?
And the final reason is because Jeb and George are two very different people and politicians. They seem almost incomparable, and there is no real correlation for liberals or dems to draw between Jeb and his brother; liberals should only say something to GEORGE if Jenna and Laura join the military. . . And NOBODY was "Gin and Tonic" Bush joining the armed forces--Yikes! |

I am sure by the time they found out was around the same time as all of us.. lol and 1/3 of their sons or daughters are probably in or joining the military themselves and they didn't get any congrats. So who cares if they con grated someone in the governments son or not. No one seems to support the NON-government affiliated troops. |

Do you think he'll be on the front lines with 1 to 5 men to the enemy and lacking body armor so when they find a IED they get blown to pieces. Maybe some of the multi-billions of dollars will provide him with equal guns to their AK-47 and sufficient body armor and back-up against the deadly scenario there. |
