The worst thing a President can do to the military is not to keep his word. Our troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan are getting a very dirty deal, some units were told that they could go back to their families and homes in January and February, now they have extended their service in Iraq. This involves soldiers who are already serving overseas in Germany too, just picture your self in a strange country and your spouse has to go to Iraq, you finally see the light, the soldier is coming home, then they extend his tour of duty in Iraq. This really stinks to heaven. Now you know what Bush has done wrong, he does not keep his word. |

It's simple. He hired, and now refuses to fire Rumsfeld. The collective opinion of these generals is that Rummy is incompetent and needs to go if we are going to have an effective strategy in Iraq and Afghanistan.
These generals testified before a republican controlled congress. The transcript is part of the congressional record. I wonder if the people who call this misinformation know what was actually said and the credentials of the men that said it. I guess it's to easy to say "misinformation" or "the liberal media made it up" or some other garbage. |

Beginnings of our own Civil War, and a coup. Yes, that is a wild azz guess at this point. But Bush has managed to piss off anyone who is not part of his inner circle. |

I didn't realize they were but when you think about it, I don't see how any military leader could respect any of the characters in the admin. considering how unwilling they were to put there lives on the line when it was there turn. Now , from the safety of their Washington offices they can play with the lives of the young men & women that are there to serve their puposes, like they were playing a game of "Risk" Rumsfield's decisions have been justifiably critized by ret'd officers. I'm sure when this insanity is over, history will not be too kind. |

Pro Democrat lobbyists paid retired officers big bucks to denounce the president. It's the Swift boat strategy with the other party. |

LOL! What a sorryass lie! Military leader revolt, indeed. This disassociation from reality will really help in November. Ha!
Thank God the GOP doesn't have a competent or sane opposition, or they'd lose their majority! |

He isn't. You have been swayed by the sensationalists. |

No current military leaders are revolting against the president, and former military leaders are citing Rumsfeld as a problem, not Mr. Bush. Please get your facts correct. This is a case a of you cannot please all the people. Handling of the war has been disputed since the first days of the war. Generals have been making indictments all along, and what you find is that many feel slighted because their advice either wasn't accepted, or was never sought out in the first place. It doesn't make their contentions correct, or for that matter incorrect, it just means they have an opinion. The fact that the rhetoric seems to be dialed up at this time is simple to explain. There is an election coming up in November. If you don't think that Generals don't have allegiances or agendas think again. |
