Ever imagine that all of the troops and their families want them home?

Of course they do!

ALL of us want them home.

But they volunteered for the duty. And as long as needed, these brave heroes continue to re-enlist and go back to serve with their brothers in arms.

They serve proudly and AMERICA is proud of them.

To suggest anything LESS than victory is sedition and treachery.

America has come to expect this from cowardly Democrats.

You obviously cant destroy their religion but yes it is in their belief that the more Americans that they kill, it will benefit them in the after-life as they think it will be seen as a good thing in the eyes of their God. As long as that is their beliefs then why do you cowards that speak of pulling out want to let these extremists gain back areas of Iraq and Afghanistan that our troops have fought hard for. Leaving the countries will only give terrorists more opportunity to develop safe houses, recruit more terrorists that want to kill us and allow passage from country to country. This world is connected politically and economically, so what happens over there( sorry for you Dems to hear this) follows us back home whether you like it or not. It would be nice to nuke all of them but killing innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan only will make us the monster we fight everyday. That would just make us terrorists as well, so lets not be hypocritical because our troops have honor, we arent murderers. And you ask how many times do they have to replace their leaders, well that statement their is proof of a young developing democracy in Iraq and that there is progression, why cant they have a chance at freedom of rights as we all take for granted everyday. They will replace and replace but we have accomplished the unthinkable. Just think, would your concern rather be with Saddam Hussein and the threat he posed to us and the rest of the world or how many times do they have to make an effort to replace a deceased leader? And all you Dems cant say he wasnt a threat because the majority of the democratic party voted for the invasion and prior to that, the majority of the Dem party also stated in interviews that he is a threat and that he needs to be taken out. That is from the mouths of several Dems including some of the ones you see running for the 08 election that suddenly decided to reroute their decision on the war because it sounds better to say bring our troops home than put them in harms way. It must be done and the only reason that the Dem party change their votes and decisions on the war is because war is not popular among the U.S. and they are more concerned about being in power and getting elected as president rather than targeting the real problem. Clinton claims that he tried his hardest to kill Bin Laden but if we dont want war( Dems popular, cut n run) and just pull out, its really hard to kill him sitting in Washinton. Hillary Clinton wants to pull out and not go after Bin Laden and not stabilize controlled Al Qeada territory but her husband Bill did. Is there nothing ironic about that.

Honey, I am more republican than democrat. I am not un-american, you are not un-american. We have differing opinions, and that is fine.

Why is it that we can't all just agree that there are problems all over the place, we can solve some of them and we are not going to be able to solve all of them?

For goodness sakes, don't bring them home just because you think that is what is best. Should we take the names of every person who wants them to just come home, so that when Al Queda and the Taliban take over those middle eastern countries again and become stronger than ever we can call you up and ask you to lay down your lives here, in our country, to protect the rest of us from that which we were trying to stop before they got so strong.

We have been fighting evils, mis-informed religious zealouts, and those who have done terrible things against humanity for a century, and even before. Would it be better if we were the King's territory? Would it be better if we were under the rule of France and Mexico, or Spain? Would we be better if Hitler had won, or if Saddam had won?

The fight for oil is the government's fight. The fight for liberty is the fight of the people of the allies in Iraq and Afghanistan. When you pull out those who are doing the right thing, then the wrong thing will persevere. The people of those countries know no other way, and do not understand. They will never understand.

Stand up. Have your opinions, but do not tell me, my dear, that I am not an American when I served my time in the Marine Corps, gave the option of my life being given for the beliefs of my country, and have given 3 of my children to the same cause. Thank the God we honor that we are all alive because of those who have died.

It may be a quaqmire now with little hope, but the US did what it had to do at the time. Have you forgotten September 11th? Do you want to see something worse happen on American soil in the future? We invaded the breeding ground, and as much of a shame it is how many lives have been lost in this war, those lives were given to defend your right to opine, and to minimize the chance of other terrorist garbage from gaining a foothold here at home. Every day that money is spent protecting you, and to keep our country from becoming the horror filled disaster it was on that tragic day more than 5 years ago. I have never taken the stand that democrats are necessarily anti-american, but at the very least, don't discredit the honor of our fallen service members by saying that they died in vain.

Because if that happens before the Iraqi government gets control of the country, Taliban and al Qaeda types will set up shop there to wreak more mischief against the US. If the WMD materials are recovered from Syria (where they now are), the result could be an event that would make 9/11 look like a Sunday school picnic by comparison.

The majority of the TROOPS do not want to come home until we have killed so many terrorists that they leave the USA alone. They are the one in harms way. They say that those who call for their withdrawal are throwing away all the troops who have already died. That is what is Un-American.

Is it Pro-American to say, OK we can't win, you people are doing a lousily job so come on home? See the problem is, this is not a pointless war, nor is it a war over oil. That alone would be enough, don't think so? do you have a job, do you like to eat? do you know of anything that moves in this country without fuel? green? maybe in the future but not at this point, no oil, no fuel no America. The real issue is that when we leave, and we will, you cut and run Democrats and even some republican will eventually get your way, and we will leave, Islam will take complete control over the middle east, then nations like Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, will all fall to the radical Muslims like they did in Iran, then they will come here. Ask them, read their web pages, the truth is the Jihad is a struggle all right, but if they tell you the truth, the struggle is to make all people submit, Islam means submissions. When we pull out they will come here, and then who will come to help us? You do not play nice with these people, their religious law mandates that ALL submit, not just those who want to.

Our soldiers can not fight the way they should because our own people CNN, NBC, and the rest are fighting for our enemies. Rome did not lose, it was beet by its own people. We will be as well.

itd would be great to have the troops back!! and i cant wait for the day to come! but untill stupid people stop bombing buildings and buses and w/e else they like to distroy. we will have troops out there defending our line from people who thrive on innocent blood.

It's not anti-American to want the troops to come home. Most all Americans want that to happen. What is anti-American is the motivation for that desire. Currently our country is waging a war against international terrorism. Iraq was a major supporter of international terrorism before we took Saddam Hussein out. After we accomplished that deed. We found ourselves in the position of trying to stabilize that country in the aftermath. If we leave Iraq before a truly stable government with true control of its own country has been established we will have accomplished nothing. In that case all of the foreign terrorists who have flooded that country and currently make up as much as 90% of the so called insurgency will take control. If the terrorists take control of Iraq we will have gained nothing and that is what will happen if we just cut and run as many who haven't really thought things through are avocating. Which is worst, having over 3000 members of our military being killed in a war aimed at ending international terrorism that ended up being successful in it's aims, or have 3000 of our military killed in an effort that came to nothing because we were so short-sighted as to quit before we were able to accomplish our noble goal.

The terrorists will see it as a victory for them if we withdraw before winning. Those wanting to quit now without victory for us are thus seen as being on the side of the enemy because doing so would give the enemy a victory. Being on the side of the enemy makes you anti-American.

First off I don't think it is anti-American to want our troops to come home. Secondly, I don't believe a political preference is necessary to feel the way that you do. There are thousands upon thousands of people that want our military return home. I can't say that the Iraqi people are ready to defend themselves against their enemies but the president (good or bad) HAS COMMITTED us to a situation that you can't just walk out. Americans have never ran from a fight and I don't believe that we should now. However, I believe like you our military should return home. It has to be a slow withdrawal to allow the Iraq Army time to gain control of their nation. We can't allow another dictator take over and slaughter innocent lives. Iraq, Iran, and other countries in that part of the world have had wars almost from the beginning of time. I can't see the loss of any more of our military is going to help stop their war, or satisfy there desires. We can only hope that they can remain a democratic type without our help. We definitely could use some of the funds that are used for the war for some of our natural disasters, hurricanes, floods and famine in this country, however, not until our military comes home. I believe that the time is near, and a decision will be made soon . Until then I support our Military 100%, and all america should too, and to use whatever resources we have to defend them and keep them as safe as possible. Our military have stood their ground under some severe conditions and we should all be proud of them, and don't ridicule them for doing what they have been told to do. Be patient.

It seems that the Republicans view our government as the worlds government and anyone who doesn't support their global agenda and cheer them on in their march for global domination is unpatriotic. I agree with you. Anyone who cares more about controlling the world than solving the problems that affect americans at home is unamerican. It may turn out that both parties are guilty of this, but for now, it is obvious that the republicans are guilty of caring more about their global agenda than they care about americans at home.

It's typical Rebublican spin, trying to make us believe, that they are better on defence.
They do neglect to mention one important fact, and that is the 9/11 happened on their watch. Try as they might to blame the Clinton Administration, that left office, leaving us with a surplus budget and no war.
Containment was working well, and Saddam was held at bay.
Now look at the Mess that Bush has us in now. Not to mention all those aides of his, leaving in disgrace, or in jail.
That includes his buddy, Wolfowitz of the World Bank, who was totally inept too. He was one on the main instigators of the Iraq War.
And yet Bush, even today, is trying to convince us, that Iraq was behind 9/11 with information, that is two years old and has been proven wrong.
All we can do, is wait, until 2008 and get rid of him. Sadly this Congress won't do it's job and impeach Bush and his V.P.

Yes, exactly! Maybe if we had taken the billions we wasted in Iraq and built....oh, I dont know....levees for New Orleans?!! we wouldnt have had such a disaster after Katrina and our soldiers and Iraqi civilians wouldnt be dying in vain every day!!

PS: I could kiss you I'm so happy theres someone being realistic and reasonable on here. Its so rare this is like a breath of fresh air.

Its not...they say that because agreeing with it would make them own up that this war and this president are a total failure. They would rather stay and stay and stay and keep their pride than admit the truth. It is the saddest form of patriotism...if they are so for the war in Iraq, how come none of them or their kids is anywhere near joining the military to go fight it?
