Why muslim countries must buy weapon from western country?

The development of weapons is more costly than purchasing mass produced items. Designers in the world have perfected certain weapons to excellent caliber ( good example: The Russian AK-47 is light, versatile, and cost effective). Many Middle Eastern countries do want to develop their own light weapons. They are more interested in producing weapons that can level their opponents in one shot rather than weapons for protracted conflicts. Lastly, if someone comes to your door and offers you pasteurized processed milk for a cheap price, are you instead going to buy a cow and all the machinery to obtain the same quality?

Because they haven't developed their own technology since the middle ages. Most of them don't even operate their own oil refineries, Western countries do.

Interestingly enough- they don't buy all their weapons from western countries - many of the weapons are bought from Russia and China as well. The Muslim countries don't have the facilities or technology to build most weapons.

The don't have the knowledge how to make them, they buy from the west & the east. just last week Sauodi Arabia ordered som arms from Mosco.

From what I've seen, (which admittedly, is a westernized view) they don't let their people get smart enough (or dumb enough, if you prefer) to be able to develop their own good (bad) stuff.

hmm funny question you asked!, well we buy weapons from western countries coz 1) we dint have the resources to make our own ( and by the way we dont buy all the weapons from the west) 2) the westeners threat us and still sell us the wapons funny ha? well in terms of guns and most of the weapons we buy em from russia and china, while only a small amount such as jets and missiles are bought from the west (the U.S)

They buy their weapons from all over. They also get them from Communist governments (those that don't believe in God) such as Russia and China.

we -arabs- are lazy and easily decieved by words....al we know and need is money and lust and don't care about any thing else
although we here -in egypt- constructed a weabon factory it doesnt produce any weabons.....we buy everything not only weabons

West doesn't allow the Middle East or the Muslim world to make their own weapons when they try they put sanctions on them & incase of a war between the west & the Muslim world the west will know exactly what crap they have sold to the the Muslims & how they can use much more supposicated weapons to deal with them.

because the west always stir up conflicts. Had the western country never stirred conflict in Afghan, Iran-Iraq, Israel, pakistan-India, the world will never need weapon.

But that's no good for the west, so they need to have conflicts everywhere
