Why or how did The Marines got my cell phone number?

The various recruiting offices for the military branches use every means possible to get new phone numbers for people they think "might" want to join the service. The most common way that they get phone numbers is from your friends who have come in and attempted to join. So, I'd look to your friends and ask which one gave up your number.
Second, there's no reason to be scared. The military services are fairly straight-forward (don't believe anything a recruiter tells you unless you have it in writing). You should go in, listen to what he has to say. If you like it, continue listening and ask questions. If you don't like it, feel free to ask the recruiter not to contact you again and be on your way.
If the recruiter calls you again politely inform him of the current privacy regulations regarding solicitation and remind him not to call again. Document the call and, if he calls again, you can report him. It's fairly simple.
Although there are plenty of options for getting a recruiter to stop calling you, I'd honestly recommend considering the armed forces. Especially in lieu of the current economic crisis. It's a guaranteed paycheck, a contract saying you'll have work for at least 3-6 years, and great benefits to boot. There's nothing saying you have to join the Marines either. Take your time and browse all the branches before making a decision. |

Sometimes schools give them to recruiters/ other people you know might have. I got a call when i was 16 and a Marine recruiter on the other end asked if I knew some guy that was a Scout/Sniper at the time (I didn't know him then, just his parents) and it kinda freaked me out! How does a sniper who i don't know give a recruiter my number. . anyways nothing to worry about, they're just trying to find some people who want to be the best in the world. |
