You're a depressed idiot. War is a part of life. It will never go away and there is nothing anyone can do about it. Another thing, you can't win them all. Get over it! And we are losing the Iraq war?? What the hell are you talking about? You are a sad excuse for an American. If you are ashamed of the United States then move to Canada... Nobody wants you here. |

Sounds like you aren't much of an American either. |

Wow. Aren't we just a little ungrateful. Good thing the veterans of WWI and WWII didn't think like you.
Let me let you in on a little secret: We're all ashamed of you. |

My husband is a 3 tour combat veteran in this iraq war.
regardless of which war or any war. they were proud to serve, to protect their country.
they had the balls to defend the country when the country turned their backs on them.
most of these "innocent civlians" are insurgents. young children are used to fight this war, and they disguise themselves as citizens and then go kill or blow something up.
the point being you will NEVER know or understand until you face the same thing that they do. and the media is usually never 100% correct. |

Veterans should be proud of their service, but the rest of us ought to take a hard look at the kinds of politicians we elect and how they use the armed forces.
Thank you,, both happy and unhappy veterans, for serving our country. |

U-S-A! U-S-A! When it comes to national pride, Americans are No. 1, according to a survey of 34 countries' patriotism.
People rated how proud they were of their countries in 10 areas: political influence, social security, the way their democracy works, economic success, science and technology, sports, arts and literature, military, history, and fair treatment of all groups in society.
Patriotism is mostly a New World concept, the researchers said. Former colonies and newer nations were more likely to rank high on the list, while Western European, East Asian and former socialist countries usually ranked near the middle or bottom.
The U.S. ranked highest overall and in five categories: pride in its democracy, political influence, economy, science and military. |

Which branch did you served on?
If you are really a Veteran, which I doubt it very much, you should know that war has nothing to do with the military, it has to do with politics and the " Foreign Policy" in this country is managed by morons! The military didn't loose the war, the politicians lost it!
Regardless of the outcome, I would never, and I emphasize, NEVER! would be ashamed of being a veteran. I did my job I risked my life as my son is doing it now for something that we believe. If it was up to me, I myself, would take those "honorable discharges" and charge you with TREASON |

I am a proud veteran. On the other hand, I am ashamed that you are an American citizen.
By the way, we never lost Korea. And the other wars and actions you mentioned were lost by politicians playing power games in Washington DC. Democrats are doing it now. Liberal Democrats are using our troops as pawns in a big power struggle. If you have anything to be ashamed of, you ought to be ashamed you're a liberal. Liberals side with the enemy every time. |

We are proud to have answered a higher call, to be part of something bigger than our individual selves. We are proud to have defended those who are too weak, poor, or otherwise unable to defend themselves. We didn't make policy, we just did, and continue to do, what we are told to do. I do not believe you are a vet. If you really were, you would know this. If you are so ashamed of this country, leave. Move to Korea, Vietnam, or Somalia and see how you like it. The USA is not perfect, we have problems, but I have been to a lot of other countries and I can say this. We have it better than just about everybody else out their. If this country is so bad, why do so many people want in? Tear up your SS card while you are at it and get out of my country, your wasting my air. |

If that's the case, seeing your whining then I think your next stop should be the airport and then go to the international terminal and buy you a ticket out of here. |

They should be proud because they fought and died to give you the freedom to ask these kinds of questions. God Bless All Veterans past and present. |

I am sorry that you have such animosity for your country and harbor ill feelings from your service. There is help available for dealing with any possible traumatic stress you may have suffered. It may be in your best interest if you would seek such assistance to help you deal with your issues. |

I spent thirty-four years in the military and I'm ashamed of YOU. And if you think we LOST the wars you mentioned, you're delusional. Those supposed DD214's you claim to have are more than likely BCD's |

That's too bad, I will continue to be proud of my service. I don't really mind that the promised education benefits or housing loans never materialized, and there wasn't a drop of help when I needed it from the VA, nor could I retire, nor did I get the rate I wanted. Isn't it the President and Congress who decide whether or not there is continued presence in any country? We actually had orders telling us what to do which kind of exonerated us from the mistakes made. Your military must have been great if you could decide for yourself. If you decide to leave, we won't stop you. By the way, I lost good friends along the way, many of which were asleep when they were murdered in Beirut: they were men of honor, and I do not think you are. |

We took an oath that we would follow orders and give our lives if we had to no matter what we were told do. We signed an agreement to serve our Country for so many years and then return home. WE were not the ONES to chose where we did go, do what WE did, leave when WE left!!! That is why we are PROUD OF OUR SERVICE!!! Our COUNTRY is STILL HERE and YOU ARE FREE TO SAY AND DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO!!!! YOU are also FREE to ask a question so YOU MAY UNDERSTAND!!! |

Look, I'm proud of serving the greatest country in the world. I would have been proud to serve during Korea or Vietnam, knowing that even the most populated country in the world (China) couldn't beat us in either of the two cases, only the politicians in Washington can beat us, which is what is happening today.
Somehow I doubt you are going to tear up your discharges too quickly, not with VA home loans, free health care, and dozens of other things given to veterans. |

how did we lose the Korean war? it is still going on, so no body has won or lost it. the troops on the ground didn't lose Vietnam, the leadership in Washington and the Pentagon blow that one for us. Somalia where Clinton sent in the troops lacking the proper support that they needed to accomplish the mission,Lebanon terrorist act that is very hard to guard against.
seems to me that the government has a lot to do with what you claim to be defeats or what ever you are trying to say. when the troops are allowed to do their jobs they excel in every case, even if they suffer setback in the beginning.
I'm ashamed that you are a American, and would even ask such a question. the vets of the United States of America deserve nothing but respect from their fellow citizens. you on the other hand deserve nothing but contempt and scorn. |

I am proud of my 7 years in the Army. I will stand behind the people that are in the military because most of them believe in what they are doing. A lot of the news people are the ones that say we are losing so a lot of the people in the US thinks we are. If the military could truly run this thing as a war then it would be over real fast. But the powers that be say "NO" but be careful not to damage anything because it is their faith. So stand tall if you are a veteran and be thankful we are free to choose to join or not. |

I am a viet vet and i am proud that i served my great country even if the politcos in D.C. wouldn't let us win. If you have never been in the military then you could never begin to fathom the comraderie of your fellow veterans. we served to preserve our way of life and to keep you free. Freedom comes with a price tag and those that gave their lives in war paid the supreme cost for you to ask questions like this and to protest when you don't like something. this weekend you should hug as many vets as you can while we honor our fallen comrades this memorial weekend |

Well if you're ashamed to be here, then leave, don't talk about how ashamed you are of your country, just leave, no one will try to stop you. |

Listen young man, you hold your head up high and put your chess out! Your the epitomize of a"stand-up" guy. Be proud of yourself and of your parents. You followed your leaders' orders, you did it without question, you believed. DO NOT be ashamed of the United States, only of the elected leaders that lied to all of us in believing and agreeing to this war in the first place. We were all gullible at the beginning, now we are lost as to what we can do to stop it. I thank God, that he saved your life and let you come home to freedom and liberty. Be proud of yourself, and take this knowledge and pass your experience on to the youth of this great country, teach at a Youth Centre, Volunteer at a Vet's Hospital. Go out and hook-up with a Candidate and voice your opinion against this war. Do anything, something but don't waste your life on hate, shame or regret. For the only thing that that will get you is "old age" and a bitter life. What is done, is done, so move on and do some constructive with your experiences and live a full and productive life. I for one am Very Proud of You! Please don't feel guilty anymore, God has forgiven you. |

We can salute troops and their service wihout necessarily agreeing as to the political objectives laid out by the respective administrations during the incidents you cite. Experience should be our best teacher. We should only go to war when our national interests clearly dictate such a situation. Short of that, we should focus more clearly on early conflict resolution so that situations do not flare up to the dgree they seemingly have in many instances.
I still salute your service to this country.
Best wishes |

THEY DID NOT LOSE, sure they might not have won, but they made a difference. they proudly served, and learned alot from it. they learned the core values, and how to be proud, and well deciplened. They chose to do it, and they are makingdifferences EVERY DAY!!
