I totally understand your sentiment. You are going to be slammed by most posters for your views.
I was 20 when I enlisted in the Army in1966. I believed the line of crap that we were being fed about the domino theory. I mean, after all, JFK and LBJ supported the war. Congress passed the Tonkin Gulf resolution.
Our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan now are in the same boat. Don't hold them responsible for this war. Please |

Feel free to move. It is people like you that make me convince young men and women that this country is not worth fighting for. When we fall, I know that people like you will be the first to the gallows, so I at least will have that laugh at the end. |

NO ONE prays for peace more than the soldier that is prepared for war.
At least they are willing to protect your freedom of speech, or you just might find yourself without a head. |

They are men and women who are fighting for something they believe in, wheter or not you agree with them.
God Bless tem and keep them safe. |

Maybe you should waltz yourself down to the nearest military base, enter the tavern and express your views.
I'm sure you would find people interested in what you have to say. Just make sure to have 911 on speed-dial for the ambulance. |

I want you to answer a question for me.... Do you know anyone in the military? They are fighting for your right to say these bad things about them. You can talk to me when someone you love is in Iraq! You may have pity for them but you are the pitiful one!!! |

Dear Humorous,
(I'm assuming it's you. Probably a safe assumption.)
All I can give you is a quote be GEN MacArthur. It sums it up better than any of us can here....
"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war. "
And yet another quote from GEN MacArthur that fits you and people like you perfectly...
"I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within. " |

I don't feel sympathy for the troops. The things that I feel for the troops are respect, admiration and pride.
The people that I feel sympathy for are the family members of these brave men and women. As they watch their family member serve our country with such honor and respect, they are forced to deal with disrespectful, unpatriotic, vile persons such as yourself.
The only reason that you have the opportunity to voice your obviously ignorant and uninformed opinion, is the long list of noble men and women who have served and especially those who have laid down their lives in the military with valor and honor.
The battles that have been fought have been to not only preserve our democracy and rights, but to allow others who weren't fortunate enough to live here to experience the same liberties. |

While I find what you have to say deplorable, I hope you understand that the reason they are over there is to defend your right to spew your filth on the general public
Enjoy your rights I know I do |

Not too many people join the military with "Rambo" attitudes. Such individuals are more often than not complete failures as team players (either due to physical weakness or mental instability) and flushed out somewhere along the training and indoctrination process. Hardcore warrior types with the physical attributes to match more often gravitate towards outfits like the French Foreign Legion.
As for those of us in the American military, we may have the right to vote in Presidetial elections, but we don't have the choice to just get up and walk away any time we want to because we don't like the results of an election. That "evil regime" in Washington was put in place by the American people, thank you very much. My oath of service wasn't "I will serve an Evil President"; it was "I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States, against all Enemies, Foreign and Domestic". Try reading that and the Declaration of Independence sometime.
As for "evil forces", if you haven't been there, you really don't know what you're talking about at all. American forces are so tied down by the Laws of Land Warfare that we don't do massacres on anywhere near parity with other militaries (Russian troops on Grozny, French troops in Rwanda), preferring in many, many instances to risk taking casualties or let the enemy escape rather than risk killing civilians.
Whoever you have sympathy for is your business. It's simply not worth anyone to make it theirs, just because your little rant is so ill-informed and locked in the protest politics of the 60s (like you quoting the Vietnam war, which has been a non-issue since it ended over 30 years ago. Nice.) that there's no merit in it whatsoever. I'm quite certain that whatever "sympathy" you have is just there to make you feel good about yourself and you won't do a damn thing for any of those "Iraqis and Vietnamese" you so disingenuously support from a great distance.
Really, you're not an uncommon sort; you villify what you do not understand, and have neither the courage of the vision to pursue the truth beyond a few soundbites. As long as you don't get in the way of real people trying to make a difference, you're harmless. Just don't expect any respect from any of us who actually give a damn. |

If it were not for the men and women in the Armed Forces, dumb a**es like you wouldn't be able to make statements like the one you just made. Even if you don't support the war, you should support and respect the BRAVE men and women who are willing to risk THEIR lives for people like YOU!!!!!!
Thank you to all our TROOPS past and present. |

What about the Iraqis who's lives are being saved by the Americans protecting them from the insurgents?
Message from the troops: You're welcome. |

Our troops have joined the military for many reasons and not to join because they want war, many join to keep down war. Many join because they want to better themseves and as you should know there is a lot of job experiences that you can not find in civellian life unless you are very rich or have a rich uncle or two. All said, we have some of the best damn Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guards in the world and they are not a bunch of war mongers which you have described in your pitiful way. And they are not afraid to fight a war if called on. My advice to you is go to some country like Nort Vietnam or other country that might appreciate you, We, the United States of America would not miss you at all. |

Look at this way, if people didn't volunteer to serve in the military, your *** would be drafted and fighting over there right now. You should be thanking us for serving, so you dont have to serve. We got commanders telling congress that we dont need to be over there anymore so its a proven fact they dont want to be over there. |

Our troops did not want nor cause this war it was our legislators. Many signed up prior to 9/11. Many go as conscious objectors who are serving our country. I do not support this war, but I support my family who have and will served. |

First off I did not want this war, or any war for that matter. I did my job and followed orders, just as stated in the contract I signed my name to. You might not understand what honor is, or living up to your word truly means, but those Soldiers over there do.
And just to let you know, Bush might not be the best thing to happen to the U.S. but he is far from evil. Evil is the terrorist that stands next to the pregnant woman with a bomb strapped to his chest and blows everyone up around him. Evil is the one who tells his sons to go out and kill the innocent people around them because they arent killing the "infidels". Evil are the ones recklessly firing wepons in markets full of women and children killing several with no remorse. Just in case you feel it nessecary to tell me that this didnt happen before the U.S. got there make sure you do some reading to find out how pure and innocent the people really are that you sympathize with. They have been killing themselves for hundreds of years. |

Sympathy from you....I want none. In 2002 I hit the desert and I am going back 2 months from now. Being a soldier in the Army is a pleasure for me and my family. I do not want your sympathy, I just want your tax dollars. Your taxes helped me earn my first degree and is helping me earn my second degree now. Your tax dollars also pay for my entire family's medical bills. You may keep your sympathy and just continue paying for the war and my salary by paying your taxes. If you decide to stop paying your taxes, know that it was me that has provided you that freedom to make that choice. Also, the next time you watch on TV a report on a suicide bomber, I want you to give your sympathy to the killer and the troops that die so that you may live in peace. Sleep well under the covers that I and my fellow soldiers provide for you. Night Night!!! |

How do you look yourself in the mirror, you have freedom of speech unfortunately for people like you. But now I have a question for you, do you listen to music use a microwave drive your car, use a cell phone, buy cloths, go to the grocery store anytime you please, get gas at the gas station, do you go to school? OK so what freedom are you willing to give up, because in other countries you wouldn't have half of those freedoms. Also you want to bash men and women who fight for your freedom to open your mouth so stupidly what do you do to help your fellow man to make this country a better place to live, what do you contribute, do you help anyone in anyway? It amazes me how people who want to teach tolerance are the first to be so nasty. I did not like Clinton as president but I don't hate him as a person. You don't Know President bush personally so how can you hate him so.
So if you aren't going to be someone who contributes in some way to make this a better country and things are so bad here there isn't anything keeping you here. Maybe your would be happy in another country. |

Regardless of whether or not you agree with the war, you should still support our troops. Not all of them want to go overseas and start killing people. But sometimes they have too, it's their job. They would go to jail and their families would starve if they decided not to go.They are in debt to this country and we to them. |

I think you're forgetting that the only reason you can voice your opinion is because of our troops. And don't you dare call them evil forces. Each one of those men and women as well as their families are heros. They sacrifice more an any given day then you will in your entire pathetic life. My husband is currently in Iraq on his second tour and he is there to keep this county from becoming like Iraq. Why don't you go live over there and try to speak out against the way things are done. You should be ashamed of yourself. I don't care if you support this war or not- but SUPPORT THE TROOPS! |

look at it this way...if they weren't over there right now risking their @$$, then you would be at a much greater risk of being attacked by terrorists. They aren't murdering these people...it's in our rules of engagement that we aren't even allowed to shoot them unless they shoot at us....rules of the UN |
