No matter what, he doesn't want to admit defeat. Defeat is a terrifying reality for a man like him. He as the President of the USA went to war and lost in a somewhat premature way. Its a huge political blow to the US in the short term and would spoil his reputation and that of the Republicans.
Considering the way he went to war in Iraq, he lost. There were no WMDs, there were no relations between Saddam and Al Queda and Saddam did not pose any threat to any nation; not even Isreal.
The story of Iraq is a sad one. Its a practically collapsed state. |

Because the reason for going to war had not yet been fixed or removed. The problem would just come back in five years if we left now. |

It isn't lost but a new criteria to define winning needs to be determined. We broke it we can't abandon it or we will be back in a decade or less. |

Iraq is not a lost battle , its just being fought wrong . |

You can't pull out or we will be telling the terrorists we surrender and we will then bring the fight to our country. They declared war on us Bin Laden even signed a declaration of war at 9/11. They will not stop until mission accomplished and they said right out on their land or ours it didn't matter. I'd prefer it be on theirs. What part of this don't you seem to understand? |

just because the media fills Americans full of crap doesn't mean its true, Ask people who have served in Iraq. Life over their is so different that what is portrayed here! Were not losing, if we lost we would have more 9-11's here! |

Simple. Because he disagrees with your opinion.
And I think he knows a hell of a lot more about the situation than YOU do, skippy. |

Your right.
In Iraq:
- 4,500 Iraqi schools rebuilt or remodeled
- 4 million new textbooks delivered
- 30,000 new jobs created
- 3 elections
- 18 Iraqi provinces, 5 of them still have unrest. 5 out of 13 violent
- Thousands of Iraq troops being trained.
Sounds like failure to me.
3,000 US troops dead.
In 2006 alone, 5,600 US Teenagers died in reckless driving.
In 2006 alone, 7,000 people died from doctors poor handwriting.
- No WMD = only 5,00 people died in Hallabjah when Saddam dropped chemical bombs on the Kurdish town
- No Terrorist connections. Al Qaeda can be in the US but not in Iraq. Abu Nidal was given safe harbor in Iraq after the Achille Lauro hijacking. Remember Leon Klinghoffer?
- Saddam paid $20,000 to every Suicide bomber family.
-
Saddam tried to build a nuclear facility which was bombed by the Israeli's.
Saddam tried to build a giant gun to fire into Israel
Saddam launched SCUD missles against Israel during first Gulf War.
Saddam was given 12 years and 17 chances before US and Allies invaded. |

Another example of the Instant Satisfaction Generation type question. Imagine if in WW2 we had the same liberal and Media philosophies after three years...... There would of been an impeachment after June 6th 1944... |

Bringing our soldiers back would create a huge problem, a civil war would break out and the $hit would hit the fan. Hard. Theres nothing we can do right now really, except wait it out. Just because you in a battle that you cant win doesnt mean you have to quit. you can try to at least fix the situation a little. |

Because we haven't lost. The minute we start withdrawing our troops without the government being able to take care of itself is the moment we can declare a defeat. you know, this is what the terrorists wanted. This is all part of their plan. They know that after so many people die, the Americans won't have the guts to continue. Bush knows this. unfortunately, a lot of people don't. Another thing people don't realize, is that Iraq is right dead in the middle of the Middle east. Chaos in Iraq can cause total instability to the rest of the Middle east, a safehaven for extremists, and more wars from other middle eastern countries trying to occupy certain areas of land in Iraq for the country's interests. Knowing the law of the land over there, many hundreds of thousand of people are will most likely die. If it's not stable when we leave, it will only result in us having to go back for the 3rd time in the near future. Probably after we get attacked by extremists trying to top the death tolls of 9/11. Then the government will be blamed for not finishing the job this time. Get my drift? I can't predict the future, but in all perspectives, this is a reality that I don't want my kids and grandkids to witness. |

He still thinks there are a multitude of possible outcomes, and that he can fight to avoid some of these outcomes. He may be right - something must stop the fighting, surely, just as all previous wars have somehow ended. Once each faction in Iraq accepts its limitations, its boundaries and what it cannot achieve through bombings, things will finally quieten down. |

Because president Bush still thinks we are winning? We are not
winning. In fact we losing more than ever. As long as he is president and he believes we are winning the troops will never
be brought back home. He has made more terrorists than ever.
I'm sorry but the Iqaries have been fighting for 1400 years. |

So it's I guess embarrassing for him telling the whole world he made a mistake. He get in Iraq without UN and the another countries told him they don't want to help him. So now he try to make everything worse. |

For precisely that reason. Here we have a 'battle', or a series of 'battles'.but we haven't reached the stage of an all out war yet. When Bush told us that the mission was accomplished early on, he was careful NOT to call it a war. For now,.there is factional fighting, US troops being caught up in the crossfire. As I understand it they patrol during the day, but at night they return to wherever they sleep. No matter what happens, we have lost simply because the 'experts' had no post invasion plan AND Bremmer made the HUGE mistake of firing the Iraqi military.
But Bush will trudge on, until Congress conjures up the balls to impeach him. |

If the president admits that Iraq was a colossial failure, he will be swiftly impeached and may even face jail time...adding more troops to this mess gives the public the appearence of wanting to "turn the tide"...which will NOT happen. This is far from a military conflict... |

one needs guts to say that but he doesnt have. U S has a history of failures like vietnam and afganistan, pakistan north korea iran and else were. This is first time U S is really lead down due to its president. And still he doesnt understand it and there are no people to tell him his wrong doings.he is sole responsible person for messing up a modern muslim country like Iraq.how long US can remain there getting killed by those malatia |
