Why will the world laugh at the United States when we once again lose a war?

Look, I am Native American. America lost it's first "war" with the "settlers". depending on who you ask, there's a lot of vets out there that say we lost in "Nam". And if you think that what you see on the news in the good old US of A, isn't filtered and dumbed down for us all, then watch the streaming news on The BBC or any other free nation democracy. "If a world power uses it's power, then it is not to be respected by the world community." Our leaders in the public eye reflects us as a nation..... we should be more careful next time!

Well we haven't lost the war yet, but I think mentally we have.. America has lost it's hopes in the war and most of them just want to bring the troops back home so well...

But nah, not really... People may laugh, but the French will always have it worse heh (just kidding...)

They might laugh since we always get into wars that don't really have a point or isn't really "winnable" exception to WWII... etc...
Or they might not really laugh since we have the weapons and a culturally diverse country...?!?

For a whilee you were really quiet.But I just knew you would start all of this again once Saddam is hanged and the violance is spreading.The weird thing is that the U.S always wins a war in which people are patriotic and there is a cause.Iraw has no cause.Vietnam had no cause.So both were a failure.WW2 had a cause.WW1 had a cause.The Civil war had a cause.The Gulf War had a cause.The revolution had a cause.And so they were won victoriously.Even if the enemy is weak and its nothing but some people running around with AK47,s and home made bombs since the war has no cause it will not be easy to win.The reason why I am still dissapointed with your question is because being optimistic is good and hoping the best for the soldiers in Iraq who are dieing in vain to come out safe.That is the right thing to do.Not "I told you so".Basically what I am saying is that you should not hope the U.S loses.Even if the war is injustice and the world is starting to hate America.

I wouldn't know, we've never lost a war. Oh, if you think we "lost" in Vietnam? Think again; we won every major military campaign, from LZ XRay in 1965 to Tet in 1968. The same can be said of multiple engagements along the way. Ask any Vietnam Vet out there and they'll tell you that the politicians lost the war on the political and diplomatic side, not the soldiers that fought in it on the military side.

Good luck trying to go into Darfur if we can't resolve Iraq. No one will want to join us there, they will view it as a losing venture.

Who cares if we did? It's not a football game. If we're laughed at, it's because the ones laughing are immature and uneducated. Don't worry about it. How can we lose this war? The whole point was to remove Suddam Hussein from power. This was done. Iraq has a new established democratic government. The only thing we're going to lose are more American soldiers who are dying for Iraq's freedom from tyranny and religious fanaticism.

I'm pretty sure you just posted this to get some sort of a response to your question. I guess your answer is that we don't care if the world laughs at us, a good majority of people that will read this question will say that you are full of it, and you need to take a history lesson, and will tell you that we aren't going to loose. If you don't like the US... get out, or vote next time around for the people leading our country. That's why we have the system we have now, if you don't like it, in 4 years or less you can change it... simple enough.
