Ah, they don't want to go to jail? The Selective Slavery System, your humor is amazing. Did you think that one up all by yourself? Why you're a regular Don Rickles. |

Define Right mind. You know I'm in the Navy and I don't appreciate what your saying here. You have to understand that this is a Government, A country that needs protecting. Someone has to do it. I think you need to go. |

Because some people actually feel a sense of pride and honor and want to defend the very country that provides them so much.
And some are cowards. This would be people like you. You are an embarrassment to your family and friends. |

Slavery? I have no idea what you're talking about. |

Because it's the law - if you're male, and 18+, you are required to do it. Not registering does have consequences - they can be evaded, but it's inconvenient.
If you do object to the idea of a draft, you can always register your civil disobedience when drafted, rather than hiding from it. |

Your honestly comparing registering for Selective Service with Slavery?
What kind of drugs are you shooting up? |

One of the things these people do is protect your right to be an idiot. I see you are taking full advantage of it. Its a real shame that this country has bred low life cowards like you. |

In most cases failure to register with Selective Service will disqualify a person from receive any state or federal financial assistance for college and is generally a prerequisite for most federal and state occupations.
41 states have added their own laws that either mirror, or re-enforce the current federal law. |

The CONSTITUTION of the UNITED STATES grants Congress the power and authority to raise an Army. President Lincoln's Congress voted to use a draft to raise the Military forces needed during the Civil War.
Registering with the Selective Service??
Well, when Congress votes to reinstate the draft those who have registered with Selective Service will get another card to carry in their wallet.
The Police will demand to see your Selective Service Card each time they "I.D." you, in plain English they'll want to see your Drivers License and proof of Selective Service Registration.
As an old Vietnam Marine, I recall a bounty was paid to the Police Departments every time they arrested a guy without a "draftcard". Maybe this explains to you younger people why burning your Selective Service Registration wasn't anyway to keep out of military duty. Having no draftcard was the best way to get caught and sent to bootcamp.
This guy is a brainless fool who can't be taught all the angles are covered by the government. Going to Canada won't work now, you need a Pass Port to be legal, the same with Mexico. |

Because this country has had its freedom and been one of the greatest if not the greatest nation on earth for a long time. In order to maintain the freedom we have a responsibility to protect our country (whether right or wrong) the same way parents stand up for their children through good and bad times.
We have the right to so many freedoms that we could sit all day for the next week discussing the freedoms. [One being the freedom of speech that allows you to voice this opinion!] If those rights and privileges are not protected we could be living behind the 'Iron (Red,White,& Blue) Curtain'.
Read your history. Before USA those Americans whose family immigated from England had little choice of religion. Check other country for more lack of rights.
Learn about what you speak (write) before you do it.
And by the why, read up on slavery, I was actually a slave but we all have ancestors who were at some time or place in history. There is no pay, no benefits, no earning promotions, and definitely no RETIREMENT, other than death.
Think about it. |

Well, if you are applying for a job and accept the position, then you have probably already applied for the selective service. It is a federal law stating that it is required....so if your working for a legit company, you have already done it...and its not slavery...it is your civic duty as a member of this country. |

U shud register because it is the law. If u don't in the future u will never be able to get a federal job or other types of government grants, loans and any other type of federal assistance.
I believe they shud restart the draft for all high school graduates for several reasons. It wud greatly help make good citizens out of most of these gang bangers and juvenile delinquents and turn them into responsible adults.
U and everybody who lives in this great country is in it's debt for the privilege to live here, and it's your duty and responsibility to pay ur debt to society. Freedom doesn't come cheap or free. People like u are freeloading on Americas freedom. |

Wow you're intelligent aren't you?

Selective service is only in the event of a draft. There is no draft. |

why would anyone not register? The very first thing I did on my 18th birthday was go down to the post office and register. It was an obligation. To my country. To my family. To all of our predecessors. To the veterans. To all the men and women who have given their lives over the last 2 1/2 centuries. To my children to protect their future. To you so you can have the freedom to be as ignorant and arrogant or intelligent and educated as you want to be. Now I am serving to honor and protect those very things. Your welcome. |

I'm gonna let you in on a little ol' secret. The Uniformed Military Training and Service Act of 1947 (et. seq.) says that all able-bodied males, from age 18 to 45, in the U.S. are already in the militia. That means the Army. Not registering won't get you anywhere except a delay in going to prison or to the base tailor for the fitting of your uniform. In your case, since you are so adamantly opposed to registering, I suspect that "Bubba" will have to register you on his dance card when you become his cell mate. |
