Will I fail the asvab if I am not good at every part?

The first score that you will get back is the AFQT score.

The four areas of the ASVAB used to compute the AFQT score are: Word Knowledge (WK), Paragraph Comprehension (PC), Arithmatic Reasoning (AR), and Mathmatics Knowledge (MK).

I think that after you take the ASVAB you GT score will be the important score.

The other sections will help determine what jobs you'll be good at. And if you want a particular job, you'll need to make sure you score well enough in the sections needed.

For instance, if you wanted to be a lnterior Electrician (21R) in the Army you'll need to score:

If you don't score well in Electronics Information, it may make it hard to score a high enough EL to become a electrician.

The ASVAB isn't really a pass/fail kind of test. It is an aptitude test, which means it's purpose is to gauge what your strengths and weaknesses are, making it easier for a recruiter to find an MOS that fits your skills.

Not being strong in one section or another but being stronger in other sections just makes your score different. They look at your total score, but then they look at the individual sections to determine what jobs they have, what jobs really need to be filled asap, and where you fit into the scheme of things.

Not necessarily. it's the combined score that tells if you pass or fail.

So even if you don't do well in electronics and mechanics, if you do real well on the other parts, you should be OK.

I completely busted on the part when they were asking about electronics/circuits and stuff like that. I pretty much guessed on every question. But I still got the job I wanted, (Medic). And I passed, btw.
