Will i be able to get into the army as a sniper?

well don't know where your from, but if you are on here i assume a rather developped free country , and i think qualifications would be similiar. i was ranked 7th as a marksman canada wide back in the day when i was militia. we certainly were NOT ALLOWED SCOPES!! i was rejected from the regular airforce becauseof astigmatism, and could only join the reserves. said to hell with that and got into law enforcement instead. can't help but wonder where you are from that trains with scopes?

Nobody gets into the army as a sniper. Snipers become snipers because of their proven ability in marksmanship after extensive training and qualifying. Eyesight problems will most certainly mean an automatic "no" for being a marksman.

Being a sniper is much more than eyesight. You pretty much have to prove yourself on the rifle range at boot camp though. You can't just sign up to be a sniper right off the street.

You can't have any eye issues and become a sniper. That is one of the required traits they must have, excellent vision.

But, upon looking at your intelligence level, no im afraid you cant become one, youve obviously never looked down the sights of a scope, because when you fix that astigmatism it would make the SIGHTS clearer. and its not like you walk around with a sniper scope.

You couldnt sign up for the army as a sniper, since it is based off scores on the rifle range (among other things), you would have to prove yourself before having that job open.

You would have to sign up as an 11B (infantry).

I have seen snipers wear glasses before, dont listen to these guys. Gain some weight to.

well, you know. you need to be at least eightteen to get into anything like that but you have a chance they will pick you. just remember, it's very dangerous out there. be careful.

I have a slight astigmatism and it didn't affect my being selected to serve in the sniper squad. (HHC 2/9 Infantry, Scout platoon 1989-1991). My marksmanship wasn't affected and I did fine in all of our qualification exercises.

The degree of your eyesight correction might impact your being selected, but my platoon was hand picked by the BCO based on our ASVAB scores, PT scores, and factors like high school GPA, eyesight, etc. I served under then LTC Chuck Swannack, now retired MG Swannack. Good man, great leader.

No, sniper is not an MOS you will ahve to earn your way to become a sniper. once you join the Army you have to go INF or another combat MOS. Have two years at the least in the Army. Score expert rifle for three or four quwalls and then your chain of command will let you go if they think you are up to it. Thats after you go see the wizered and have mentel heath screening. The best thing I can tell you, and the smartest thing you can do is, don't listen to anyone here. People on the Internet can claim to be anything/anyone. What you ought to do is go down to your nearest US Army Recruiter and ask. It is that simple.

dude just listen first i wanna tell u army job is not easy 2) you'll need to be in the army for 3 years before they pick u as a sniper 3) killing people of your will is extremely hard for anyone so it takes a huge amount of time4)with your eye sight it might be hard to become one but playing baseball might help your accuracy5)this aint a video game man you got 1 life 1 mistake and u got a staircase to heaven or hell on your way so think about it6) but with all wat i have said i dont have high hopes of u becoming a sniper but who nows with a LOT of really really hard work u mite become a marksman

There are pilots that do not have perfect eye sight and they make it in, so I'm guessing you'll be fine. Although I don't think you get to pick. They appoint you to what you're best at.

It must be correctable to 20/20. So if you say the scope can fix your problem, which I think it actually can, you can become a sniper! Also you could wear glasses or something. As long as you can correct your eyes to 20/20, you're good. You really just need recommendations.

I don't think you get to pick what role you take involving missions. You have to be able to do anything. Why the obsession with killing? You sound a little worrying to me.
