Will i ever get into the military?

i am applying for the coast guard right now and i screwed up right from the get go by telling them that i had asthma as a child i was cleared of it many years ago and provided the proper documentation for it to show that i was cleared but for some reason i recieved a letter informing me that i was not qualified for that reason is there anything i can do at all to serve with the coast gaurd, and if not would i just be able to go to another branch and not mention it or do they have access to those records as well

if you have medical documentation stating you've "grown out of it," then i don't see a reason why they would reject you for that. in fact, i know several fellow soldiers that actually have minor asthma now. in their cases, their mos's do not require them to be completely without medical conditions.

i suggest you make "anonymous" calls to recruiters of other branches & ask. once you talk to all of them, make your decision then. as for "remaining silent" about any medical complications you've had or may have now ... that is solely your decision (& pray it doesn't cause you any problems after you've joined).

Chances are that they would have access to the records. But you might be able to get a waiver if a civilian doctor clears you. Talk to another branches recruiter. Though I've heard some are not accepting waivers at the moment.

Um, FIGHT if you want to join. Get a doctor to examine you and have medical proof you are fit. then take that proof and get the military branch to understand - if you want something fight for it. Get your parents/family to write your congressman or senator. FIGHT.
Of course better yet while doing all the paperwork - attend a college and get an education to be an officer! Then in 10 years you'll be much more prepared for life.

Try the Army, they will take you. You can be an 88K watercraft operator which is like the USCG.

I actually had a similar situation with the Air Force. I was trying to enlist and admitted (against my recruiters warnings) I had taken (by perscription) Ritalin and Adderall after being diagnosed with ADHD, while I was at the MEPS precessing station, they said I would have to get a waiver (this was after I had waited ~6 weeks for a waiver on the 1 misdemeanor on my record to get in).

When I got back to the Air Force recruiting office, i walked out, went next door to the Army. I ended up joining the Army (lying about having not having taken those pills, like the Army recruiter also said to do) and served 4 years without incident.

So it may just be luck. As in: did they put some sort of indication on your record? Does the 2nd branch care to check? etc.

If you went to meps and said that then they will know, but why the coast guard? You should've went USMC!
